How my stamina weapon gave me Health

I tried something different in a dragon fight today. I switched to a stamina – based weapon and noticed something unexpected. I wasn’t taking as much damage. Not because I had more health… But because I was moving more. Roll dodging, repositioning and staying off – angle. It made me realize something simple. If you avoid damage, you don’t need as much health. A stamina set up seems to reward movement and timing. A health set up seems to reward standing your ground. Neither is better… It just depends on how you fight. Still testing, but it changed how I think about survivability.

If you look at build guides for PvE, they all pretty much exclusively recommend putting all your attribute points into a single resource (either stamina or magicka), and none in health. There's a reason for that! It's possible to build in health recovery using skills which, first and foremost, do damage. And you've also got potions and food/drink that can both boost base health and health recovery (and other stats too!). More damage = faster fights = less damage taken. (Still trying to work out which skills give back health scaled off damage rather than a flat value.)

Thanks a lot for that insight! I totally get the idea of focusing all in - on one resource for faster fights. For me, I just love dodging and repositioning – it’s my version of survival and fun. And I hear you – finding skills that do damage and help you sustain is always a cool puzzle. Great to see how we each approach it.
