    They absolutely do NOT listen.
“Whip having a DK restriction is a bad idea.”

ZOS probably- “So we’ve heard your concern regarding Whip, we’ve decided to 1-up you with Class Mastery Skill Lines.”

I would rather have tanking as it is now rather than get access to that clown fiesta passive in exchange for playing a garbage pure DK build.

You were aggressively stanning for changes despite the woe-saying by others. Then there became a change that you disagreed with. This is an "I told you so moment."

I was not aggressively anything. If me bringing the math to the table to show just how much better the change was for their stated goal, then idk what to tell you.

You didn't "bring the math." You made objective missteps and exaggerations in stanning the changes. I made a post that looked at the changes more closely to show the size of the exaggeration. You even considered multiple heavy attacks being made within the same 10 seconds to be a thing. That's not real gameplay for any build that isn't explicitly about heavy attacks.
    Rest in Peace:
    The Dragonknight
    2014-2025

This commemoration is for the class that has constantly been plundered and dismantled by designers for no obvious reason while other classes continue to have coherent skill lines and feel both powerful and cool.

any damage that kills you almost always does so in under two seconds
Now this is the sort of root cause that's interesting to talk about. Rather than gradual dynamic momentum swings like a sine wave, damage in this game ends up looking like flat lines in between vertical spikes, resulting in gameplay that's basically irrelevant nothingness decided by an occasional dramatic but often frustrating or inexplicable momentary interaction.

In other words, it's a root cause for why combat has become unfun. The game functioned much better when the 2sec tick window was appropriate to combat pace. This is relevant to the class rework because a global power ceiling reduction is an effective way to address this problem, not entirely unlike what WoW has done successfully with their "stat squish" approach.

Problem is that's not a class refresh issue, it's a content refresh issue, because you have to change the way content does damage to be more unavoidable damage over the long term, the kind of thing you get in Sanctum Ophidia where basically everyone's got a poison DoT on all the time and it's a test on your healers not your ability to move out of circles. (See also: Why healers are unknown outside of trials, because when you're either full health or dead you don't need a healer).

And that's not the way they're changing the game, they're changing classes and they're doing things that demonstrate they really don't know or care what's valuable or how beyond DPS, and they're leaving those of us who want to play roles other than DPS with our Dragonknights worse without responding at all to any feedback, not even to say "we're doing it anyway, you were never supposed to play tank just beam like the cool kids".

Yes they should also do this, but part of the reason they end up designing content like this is player character power creep, there's so much healing and sustain available, nothing can really threaten the player except for sudden one shot spike damage, PvE or PvP. It's a terrible state for any game to be stuck in, it has marked the death of many, many, many endgames.
