What's the best way to run pure stamblade across most pve content?

On an arcanist, I try to light up as many enemies as possible for beam. On a dk, I try to spread dots to everything. On melee stamblade, I have to be really careful with positioning and timing, it's very odd. I can only really focus on one target at a time and if there's a big AOE around that target, I basically can't do anything to it because that would mean standing in it and dying. Stamblade dps in a trial is so inconsistent if the target moves. Running after it=0 dps.
Is there anyone here who actually ranks near the top in trials as a stamblade dps?

i have some boss log st120k dmg in old patch,but i am long time not play dps yet
sorc/nb/warden is st(single target) class in old patch, they are hard play and st dps only high other class 5-7k,you just need focus boss and try do high dps,so yes, if combat have any mech need you block/swap target,you are lost your dps
in aoe combat ,you can swap whirling blade to your spam(SA)0
