I like this change... but it does pose some problems.

You shouldn't be able to dip out of the instance mid fight, it's the cowards way out and I'm glad they are addressing it.

The use of Imperial Retreat Sigils will return, which is the intended effect. HOWEVER, These only work while out of combat. If it is intended for these to be the main escape mechanism, these simply will not operate as intended so long as the DECADE long "stuck in combat' bugs persist.

These need to be able to be used in combat - but interruptible, obviously.

Therefore they can't be used while actively fighting, but if you can break away and create distance, they should be a viable option. Double the channeling length if you want to mitigate how easily this can be done, but you should not be gatekept from using these because a nightblade light attacked you three districts ago....... Like c'mon - do better!

It just makes sense. I'm not asking to fix the stuck in combat bug, we have accepted that it is a part of the game that is not fixable at this point -- but the devs need to recognize that this is a huge pain point that needs addressed and could easily be alleviated by the above proposed functions of the Sigil Of Imperial Retreat.

I think this is a great compromise, and it needs addressed.

    I feel like they should've just had the port-out process pause while in combat. Just doing a daily gets you more than 100 telvar with no way to get rid of it except die.

    Yeah just assume everyone will have more than 100, that stipulation makes no sense.

    The sigils could be useful for pvpers and casual questers alike! But not with the combat bug.

    sigils of imperial retreat "can be used in combat"*

    *it works like trying to do a recall, if you are not actively being attacked you can still get a sigil off while you are in combat so long as you dont take dmg during the 2 second port animation

    there may be a delay from the last time you took dmg to when you can use it though

    In addition to being able to be used in combat (so long as you haven't taken or dealt damage recently), the stuck in combat bug also simply isn't that big of an issue in IC. The only time it pops up is if you're in group with others that are killing stuff. A quick trip to a door+invincibility porch and dropping group will pop you out of combat reliably in IC.

    This is because each district of IC is separate. It helps with lag, and it helps with stuck in combat.

The only time it pops up is if you're in group with others that are killing stuff. A quick trip to a door+invincibility porch and dropping group will pop you out of combat reliably in IC.

    This is because each district of IC is separate. It helps with lag, and it helps with stuck in combat.

    To be fair I exclusively play solo and am in combat while in IC pretty much at all times, but I am very active. There is a bug when hunting players that if any get away man u r just stuck in combat forever.

    This probably won't be as much of a big deal after midyear when IC goes dead, but if they want it to be a healthy environment for players to populate they need to make sure this simple quality of life is there --- travel to base shouldn't be hindered by stuck in combat bug.

    I am usually in combat with players during the event and can't get out when I need to, that's a pain. Right now there is away around this, by porting into another pvp instance. We don't want to have to do that, we are forced to because the sigils are actually unusable to active pvp players during events.

    I want IC to be sustainable. The sigils should be changed in my opinion. I think If you slip a fight a district over you should be able to get to a door and it should clear combat, period. and then use a sigil. It doesn't currently work if you are in combat for 10 more minutes on the porch!

    There's already a thread here on the main forum discussing this topic. On that one most people are against the change.
    For me, it is another change pushing me away. The IC casuals like me, we'll be keeping out because it gets inconvenient and there's suddenly a large time sink in having to get back out of IC. Plus the risk of IC gets even higher than it already is.

    Is this a new addition on the PTS? Just today (on live xbeu) I was still stuck in combat (from NPC's) after going through a door to another district. In this case I was annoyed I couldn't mount, so I returned through the door to see the mobs still running towards me, but had I been wanting to TP back to base I would not have been able to whilst I remained in combat, and if I'd been escaping from another player I wouldn't want to return to face them either.

    IC surface and IC sewers are completely different instances

    i dont know exactly how the surface districts are instanced, but there is still that small load screen when you go through the door

    The escape part was always there. You just can't exploit around it now. Factor it into your schedule of farming time wise now. This is an essential change for the zone to do well for pvp. Many gave up because enemies would just exploit to vanish and be unkillable by porting to cyrodiil.

    Doing just round of dailies for event gives me 500-1500 tel var, and I do not farm anything (kill only mobs for quests or those who are on my way) and don't care much about how much times I would be killed, so lose a lot of tel var. I never went out from IC districts with less than 100 tv even when being killed a lot.
    100 tv limits is insanely little. Can be 0 with same effect.

    Forbidden porting while actively in combat will do it not exploitable too, but will not give so much inconvinience to everybody.

    Do imperial retreats work when silenced in safe areas? Such as going through one of the side doors to another district? If they can be used there, then nothing changes. I never queue out of IC unless I'm in one of those locations, so having to use a retreat won't make any difference. I'd just have to start carrying them. If not, they could make imperial retreats usable there as an option to not make the queue limit feel so restrictive. There's still risk involved because you have to escape anyone that attacks you instead of just queuing out and holding block, and you cannot use the doors during combat, so you will have to hide or defeat the attacker before you can actually get away.

    Don’t forget that the warden charm has not been removed and that those trolls will keep on having fun getting us stuck in walls, especially when they know that we can no longer escape by porting to cyro.
    A few days ago I saw someone stuck in a wall again, and there was a warden farming there.

    Great. Bugged sewer bosses and now players who can make you stuck in the wall! How are we supposed to get out of this now if we can't TP to Cyrodiil? Using "get me unstuck" costs half your TelVar. That's hardly fair when it's a game issue not a player mistake.
