Grandmaster Crafter title

Hello everyone.

Okay so i almost maxed out all 6 professions (on my main and only character) and i was thinking today how cool would it be to have an achievement with a title called "Grandmaster Crafter" that you could proudly wear it under your name. You could also find clients easier that way if they see your title and needs something made.

So what do you all think??

There are other MMOs with this. Specifically, I can remember GW2s Master Crafter title. Wouldn't be surprised to see that come in here at some point down the line I guess

As long as you had to also have every trait researched to get the title as well as having level 50 in each craft skill.

All perks, all traits and max skill lvl in every profession would be good as requirements for title like that.

Agreed with needing the every trait. Now..what if it opened up special items to craft once you have the title.....Ubermaster Greatsword!

Hmm... Would you only get the title if you had all the crafting skills maxed on the same character, though?

I agree with the title and I think it should be awarded to a crafter that has every trait discovered, but I also think that it should be account wide. Why? Because it would be great for crafters that want to advertise their services while playing on an alt.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

I agree with that... but i don't think it really aplies here. Why? Because you put items on research and you go to sleep :D That truly makes you a great one :P

I like to imagine my character hitting his head on the anvil in frustration trying to figure out how the item is made while I sleep. After all, he is getting the title not me.

I am just glad there isn't a chance of failure with the item lost....

I disagree. It should be character specific. If you are on your alt, and I need something crafted, it isn't your alt that is going to make it is it? So when your character disappears with my money or resources, I might get a little concerned as to whether or not I just got suckered.

And besides, such a title deserves to be worked for and spreading the requirements across multiple characters cheapens the honor and distinction of howing the title.

That is because the game designers decided to use "real" time versus game time to learn traits. Some games do require you to stay by the crafting area when crafting. Fortunately, this isn't one of them. Whether you toon is in town, out in the bush, or in limbo because you logged, you still get the same credit for the same time.

Or you can just add me as a friend, I change to my crafter, whisper you and we trade, how about that? It doesn't make sense for someone to give the money to the alt, like you suggested.

Spreading the requirements across multiple characters cheapens nothing. It makes absolutely no difference if you want to level everything in the same character or have an alt for each craft, not with the ridiculous number of skill points we have available. You will have to level all of the crafts and research all of the traits for the title all the same. Of course, researching half the traits on one character and the other half on another character shouldn't work, if you are concerned about the research time.

All traits seems a bit much, but having all the existing crafting skills at 50, on the SAME character, should carry a title.

It is quick and easy to power level, though.
On the other hand, we already have titles for doing quick and easy stuff, like finishing the Mages Guild and the Fighters Guild story lines...

Maybe we could get two titles. One for getting 50 on every crafting skill and other for getting all the traits researched.

Ok so how about ''Master crafter'' for reaching all 6 to lvl 50 and ''Grandmaster crafter'' for knowing ALL traits??

Also what do you guys think about all the passives?? should they all be maxed out with skill points?? how would that work with re-specing??

    Like what...persnickety?

Not going to argue with you, but it is not a swear word. Their are a handful of swear/curse words such as damn or hell, that are not filtered (should be interesting since I don't know if those are filtered or not and there is no edit).

i was suprised when i noticed half the titles in this game are pvp ones. i was baffled to realize not only were there no titles for crafting anything there are not even any achievements for any crafting except enchanting, and those are only for translating runes.

the best crafters power leveled to VR ranks, deconned gear to gain levels (crafting only slows you down, unless you happen to have enough resources from deconning.

if you actually tried to level by making stuff for people... what were you thinking?

Grandmaster Crafter alone is a bit stretch, but it can be split into parts.
Maxing every skill + having every trait for that profession = Grandmaster X (Blacksmith, Woodworker, etc.)
THEN, another achievement for having all those, which would be the "Grandmaster Crafter"
Then, everyone would be happy, would they not?
