How many times application will succeed‌ crown gifting

I have started this game last year, and have played around 3000+ hours, almost everyday. and I spend at least 100USD on new DLC/MEMBERSHIP/CROWN on ESO. Also I never sell gold for RMT.

I tried to apply since May, and have been rejected like more than 15 times, and the reason is always:"Your account must show consistent game play activity and/or be active in an in-game ESO community prior to submitting your application to be considered for eligibility to participate in the ESO gifting program."

One of my friend told me he applied 20+ more times before finally agreed. This application program seems totally irrational to me.

So guys, how many times did you applied? Or any idea how to improve success rate?

never had to apply, but i have an old very active account. there's a checklist zos has of things we need to accomplish that they won't let us know because the same "bad actors" that ruined gifting in the first place would know what they need to do in order to open it back up for themselves again. the only thing you can do is keep logging in and playing. we are fairly certain you need to be in a guild. one of the few pieces of info they have given us is that you have to have had an active account for a certain amount of time. i forget if it was 6 months or a year, but they do give a time for it. other than that, keep applying. even if you haven't done some of the things on their checklist, a human can look at the situation and override that decision. i would probably have refrained from making a post like this. that seems to be one of their red flags for "bad actors." if you do a search here for similar threads, you will see several where ppl made a post just like yours asking the community for help so that zos would override the decision.... and immediately did the kinds of things that they took gifting away from us for. i'm not saying you will do this, i'm just saying that that exact situation has happened numerous times now, so it's something they watch for.

Once but I did have to appeal, I had been active for years and the account was made back in 2016. I've had guildmates quit the game over this issue, crowns on his wife's account held hostage.

I had it unlocked on several accounts so I'd buy on my main account & give gifts to my other accounts, they removed my ability to do so on all the accounts so the conclusion for me is now no more crown buying going forward for me.

    It's their loss doing so.

They wont disclose the criteria. If they do the same issue that caused zos to have to block gifting will occur again.

Its not about the criteria - its about the solution to the problem - they could limit gifting in other ways that is not as heavy handed like limiting 1 gift per day per account - they are choosing to not do this and they are asking us to just accept that there is all this fraud that is occurring in the platform - I don't buy it for a minute.

Then you have 1 main account that you don’t play providing the game and online services to over 100 accounts under it’s umbrella just rotating “gifts.”

Kind of sus that this would be your suggestion.

That sounds awfully like an excuse to not do the work that would enhance legititmate players experience - its lame and furthermore it is unacceptable that a gaming studio would not be able to solve this.

How do other MMORPGs handle this ? I seem to be able to gift without issue on those platforms.... why is it such a thing here ?

Those MMOs also have a massive gold farming problem that far exceeds the one in ESO.

That does not affect my user experience in those games tho - and for the record I know for a fact that ESO could solve this issue if they wanted to - it just means that they would need to limit by some metric and monitor behavior - all costs that they apparently have done the math on (or not who knows I am not impressed at all by their c-suite) they they do not want to take on because they would rather this just stay a niche issue and who cares if people like myself stop playing the game.

It is clear to me from this issue among many others that do not affect me directly that they could care less about their players and anything contrary to that in my eyes is just lip service - go ahead and read the pinned threads about how great they think they are.

Its lame and that really sucks because I do love the game - but I am not going to continue to play if they are unwilling to solve even the most basic of game mechanics, one even that would benefit them financially in the long term.

    1. You =/= Everybody else
    2. No MMO can solve the issue of gold farming, they can only try to limit it.

Why do you invest energy in defending a broken gifting system ? Would it not be better if they just fixed it or removed it entirely from the game if it is such an issue ? I would be ok with either - in the former because then at least I could gift or in the case of the latter at least no one else could gift and that would be my expectation from the game. I would genuinely be sad to see gifting completely go but without knowing how to access it since it is shrouded in mystery then yank it for everyone - that is only fair.

This is a studio that has literally made millions of dollars from this game - they can solve this in a way that works for everyone and still meets their needs to limit abuses - they are choosing this cop out approach because they don't want to spend the money to do so.

Your premise is flawed. Exchanging Crowns for gold is not the intended system. ZOS kindly allow it, at their discretion. Clue is in the name "gift".

I am speaking directly to gifting - specifically I want to be able to buy something in the store a mount a house a skin a piece of furniture whatever and send it to a friend - I don't care about sending gold or crowns - that is not what I am after.

The fact that I cannot buy these things in the store and send to a friend as a gift is utterly without excuse.

Then come up with a way to stop people having their accounts hacked, from ZOS having their system breached, from people have their credit card details stolen - because that is why ZOS have to limit access.

And btw, if you are not bothered about gold or crowns you could just send your friend the cash to buy crowns themselves. Nothing stopping you there.

If your account does not have crown gifting enabled just make sure to never buy any crowns. Don't sub to ESO+ and don't buy crown packs until ZOS enables gifting for your account.

    The solution is easy.
