I saw this was a thread 4 years ago (https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/569723/does-anyone-use-the-crown-drinks/p2), but I still wonder, who uses them?
Increase Health Recovery by 446, Magicka Recovery by 410, and Stamina Recovery by 410 for 2 hours. These effects are scaled based on your level.

I'm not whining about free stuff, but if asked, I would rather get rid of this than the tri-stat potions, which are very useful. I can't imagine where this is more useful than the food, let alone the potions. Is there anyone out there who regularly uses these things?

Me! lol, funny I was just doing an experiment what buff was better. I use the crown drinks often. I feel the stats are just fine on my GMC. I am a casual player.

Here are my stats for the extra info you probably didn't need, :)

I use them if I run out of Crown Fortifying Meals or Tri-Restoration Potions. But they are even a last resort to my own crafted things like Artaeum Pickled Fish Bowl or Orgorga's Red Frothgar - as examples.

I've never seen much use for them as they are mostly identical to existing Distillate recipes. Their major advantages are that they scale to level so there is a very small benefit for characters who are between Distallate levels, plus no crafting skill required; Distillates need maxed Quality Improvement. I'd have to go look, but I think I have one stack of them in chest somewhere for those days when there is a "consume x beverages" endeavor and I don't feel like visiting a cooking fire, but I usually handle those endeavors by using leftovers from daily Provisioning writs.
I'm fresh out of outrage, but I could muster up some amused annoyance if required.

I use them when the endeavour is to drink x drinks.

They might be useful if we could have a drink with our food, but the way things are food always seems to be better.

Food needs a rework in general. All of it. What's the point of all these recipes if most of them are useless at max level and otherwise not required for writs?
Food is a big part of any culture and the Elder Scrolls is famous for having very fleshed out fantasy cultures, so why aren't we using the food in this game for lore purposes? Housing has better food furnishing and representation of Tamriel's cultures than Provisioning does.

I want to see food items diversified in their effects, scale to your level and then have foods for every foodbuff from every culture, so Bosmer can get Green Pact appropriate BiS food for every role for example.
This Bosmer was tortured to death. There is nothing left to be done.

I've thought the same thing. Even Provisioning writs ignore 95% of the recipes you get. I don't understand the point of having 100 recipes and I use... three.

And you're right, they could easily tie it in with housing. They did in Skyrim with Homestead, where you could literally farm mats. I would love to see that in ESO, too.

ZOS don't really fill up daily rewards with BiS items for endgame. It is for new players and casual players who might not have a lot of recipes or ingredients or skill points to level provisioning. When I started a new character on EU server after 10+ years on NA, I was shocked how quickly I ran out of resources. I did not have a crafting bag or bank full of ingredients. Had very little gold. Not much in way of friends or guild mates to craft stuff to help a new char. Those tri-stat drinks really came in handy! The bit of extra damage from food buffs was nowhere near as useful over there as having the regen to not be constantly doing no damage at all because I was out of resources.

My guess is that there are multiple recipes for the same food so you can choose what provisioning ingredients to use based on what you have on hand, or what might be more plentiful.

Oh, I understand that part. I realize I wasn't clear, what I meant was there are dozens, if not a hundred green and blue recipes that are far inferior to other blue level recipes that I have never used. Neither in buffing my character nor provisioning writs.

Those "three" that I do use are basically versions of the same thing. For example, I regarded garlic cod, braised rabbit, and sticky pork as "one" recipe as they are identical so all that matters is what character gets the recipe first (there are several others that also have the same stats). But at no time would I think of using goblin-style grilled rat as it is a lesser version of those 3 recipes. And I can't recall a time when goblin rat was a daily provisioning writ, so that recipe is essentially worthless.

I'll be a bit of a ditto-head on this. There was possibly maybe perhaps a point to most Provisioning recipes somewhere back in the before times (your guess is as good as mine on "before what?"), but not at present. Because I can mimic a Crown Meal or Crown Beverage with a purple CP150 recipe (effects are identical, so it doesn't matter which one), Crown Meals and Beverages went to alts because they scaled to level. Once an alt hit CP150, then they got the stuff the others were using and Crown stuff kept stacking in storage. There's not even much of a point to RP'ing with them other than maybe the animation.

There are four each of food and beverage recipes which provide a comparable buff to Crown Meals/Beverages at CP150+. The 500-odd lower-level recipes don't serve much purpose outside of daily Provisioning writs or increasing Master Writ drop chances. There are a few special recipes which are BiS for other things and most of those drop during events. There are ~20 recipes which are needed to do Master Writs; some of those overlap with the CP150 recipes and others don't, but it's still less than about 5% of the available recipes which have much practical use.

I think that if we're going to point at bloat (stuff which maybe had a use at some point, but not currently), then this is definitely a bloated game mechanic.
I'm fresh out of outrage, but I could muster up some amused annoyance if required.

i occasionally use them, depends on the toon though but the sustain bonus is sometimes nice

i personally hate crafting food, so i tend to use a lot of the freebie crown items lol

i even save some of the crown poisons for those endeavors that are "inflict X poisons on enemies" of which you can get by just popping on the crown poisons and light attacking a target dummy for 5-10 minutes lol

would i be sad if the crown drinks were gone? probably not since i seldomly use them but it can be a good nice to have
