A predictable one, too, considering all the angst about pets around daily writ dropoff chests.

I'm not sure I can express myself about players who seem to be driven by the urge to use their mount as often as possible (for respect reasons).
Six of my seven characters complete their daily writs in Alinor (the last one in Vivec, cause the stables are nearby), and seriously the delivery crates aren't far from Crafting Square, not only there's no need to ride from it to them, but most of the time I also arrive before players who do it, or at the same time, because of the mounting animation.
It's pure laziness, really. I know it's a videogame and your character doesn't need to run to stay fit but still : short distances can be travelled by foot.

To be honest, my main character is always followed by a mystical bear (all hail subclassing) and I'm not sure how much and how often it can block the way to other players, but this OP picture, up there... I don't even know how you can reach the banker hitbox to interact with them while riding a huge mammoth, and again : Vivec city is small, the crafting stations and bank all are gathered, there's really no need for mounts.

There are always going to be selfish people, and you do not even need a mammoth as a mount to prevent others playing the game as they would like to. Every bank has more than one banker, give up and go around the other side in this case, or jump through the beast and grab the bankers attention.

You could also always compete for the dislikes and light a bonfire under it and then go around the other side. Someone might get the message and get rid of the mammoth, but do not depend on it.

Ok, what if both bankers have same kinda people at the same time? This is not solution. Vivec City construction site is like an unoffical central square of ESO community. No pets should allowed inside. It is not like other areas, it is very compact but; very useful. There is no such a territory in game which has same capability.

Roughly this area should be made pet-free, mount-free and duel-free zone immediately.

Yeah, people like that tick me off, you can't tell me that they don't know exactly what they're doing. 24hr ban for them please ZoS. Just have those screenshots ready as proof when you report them.

The courtyard of all castles in Cyrodiil is mount-free; you dismount immediately upon entering, so it's perfectly possible to do it in Vivec. And it would make sense.

I also agree that there should be areas where dueling is not tolerated.

If it's a rare occasion and lasts only for a couple of minutes, it's a mild inconvenience. Sure the player is being a nuisance but you can still interact with the banker.

Even if it would be a group of players goofing around for a few minutes, it'll pass.

I wouldn't pay much attention to these kind of players unless it becomes a frequent thing or if someone stays there more than whatever the auto-logout timer is. If they stay there longer than what the auto-logout timer is then they are dedicated to annoying people and not just afk. So if it is frequent or if they stay there for a long period of time, I would start reporting then.

But a short, one-off goofing around, yeah you're not the nicest person but I wouldn't let myself get too bothered about it.

Would it be bad form to keep a stack of mud balls or pies for this sort of occasion?

Personally, I would be fine with it if ZOS elected to make it impossible to use a mount within any city. I'm sure the NPCs sweeping the streets would be happier too!

Going to disagree. I personally think you should be able to mount anywhere in overland - BUT - make it a criminal offence to mount in populated areas.

We have a justice system and it needs expanding. :D

Pets, including combat pets, should be automatically unsummoned while in town. And there should be a zone around the quest turn in's and bankers where players are automatically dismounted just like when trying to ride into a keep in Cyrodiil.

Some people already suggested this and i agree with them. Make some locations of the hubs only for player characters. No mounting, no pets, no dueling. Even no skill casting. Just your character.

No skill casting won't do since vampires need mesmerize to be able to use bankers/merchants.

Ok, they can remove that necessity easily enough. It was absurd in the first place.

That reminds me of that hoax from a few years ago. An elephant broke into First Bank in Nigeria and ate like $400k. (Turned out to be just a hoax, but it's still funny.)

They blocked Companions from showing to other players in towns, so just block pets and non-combat pets, too. And flag towns to be the same as inside buildings where mounting is not allowed.

West Weald is so much better for the writs. Unless you're still horse-training there is zero reason to do it in Vivec City.

I prefer Vivec City because of the outdoor bank with no loading screens to get the Provisioning and Alchemy items I keep stocked in the bank for daily writs.
