what ya'll think?
You've had nature explained to you and you're bored with it, you've had the living body explained to you and you're bored with it, you've had the universe explained to you and you're bored with it, so now you want cheap thrills and, like, plenty of them....

    what ya'll think?

More of an experiment on how to get as much money out of a playerbase whilst pushing them to their limit?

As one might expect, behavioral researchers do a fair bit of study of MMO populations too.

Edit to add: not that I'm implying ZOS themselves are experimenting on us, even if opening 300 sealed jewelry surveys and getting 23 for Blackwood kinda feels that way. :/

I sometimes think that real life is a psycho-social experiment/mmo. Except that real life, the graphics suck, the npcs are stupid, everything is a fetch quest and there is no replayability.

When I played World of Warcraft from 2008 to 2011 I genuinely felt like one of Pavlov's Dogs. It was plainly obvious the way Blizzard treated it's players making us jump through hoops just to obtain basic rewards that should have be given automatically through normal gameplay. Thankfully, other MMOs came along that didn't treat their paying customers as poorly as Blizzard treated theirs and I left WoW for those MMOs.

People say they're bored. We get events. People complain about event burnout/overload.

People complain about the crown store. We get endeavours. People complain about not liking activity "X" to earn endeavours.

They give us daily log in rewards. People get spoiled by good rewards some months and complain if the next month isn't "worth it". They give us golden pursuits rewards and people still complain because of all the above reasons.

    Just can't please some people.

I think most people enjoy the game over all. Nothing is perfect. Everyone is going to have some pet peeve in the game. Myself included. The forums tend towards the "vocal minority". People tend to over react to the slightest changes. How often do we see "ESO is dead" posts, and it's still here. Some new shiny game comes out and it's dubbed an "ESO killer", and it's still here, even after many of those games fade into oblivion.

People like to complain, because it's easier to tear down than build up. If someone feels like the game doesn't value their time or effort, why continue to play it? There's always some new "shiny" right around the corner.
