How long will this class refresh even take?

There's a subset of subclassers that are vocally opposed to any and all proposals of this sort. They want to be vastly stronger than pure classes. It's going to be a major headache for ZOS with this rework/refresh/whatever.

No, there is a difference between wanting to be stronger, and not wanting the roles reversed.

The last thing this game needs, is a universal buff applied to people who do not subclass, just for them to catch up to 1% builds, leaving the other 99% of them in the dust.

Reworking the class skill lines is the solution here, and from the German preview we got, ZOS are on point with these upcoming changes.

You're making my case for me.

The original proposal, which I replied to, was an idea to reduce the gap a bit. Somehow you jumped from "reduce" to "reverse."

Huh. What are the chances that regardless what names they choose, the 2026 Season Pass will be dubbed "Season of the Dragon Knight", 2027 "Season of the Warden", etc..

Imagine the actually wasted time and resources it would be if all of the development that went into Subclassing went out the window?

What exactly development? 2 days, maybe week? What did they DEVELOP for the current multiclassing? One npc with simple quest? 0 new skills, 0 new passives, 0 new sill lines, multiclassing added absolutely nothing new to the game.

Yeah bro, they flipped a switch and hallelujah we got Subclassing. No further development needed.

You gotta hate me on this one,

but World of Warcraft change class completly* every 2 years (and xpacs are going to last 1 year soon, so the changes will happen every year), and there are more classes there than in ESO. And they all are balanced, PvE AND PVP, overall, at launch!

So it's possible to be quick on that matter, you need decent devs and maybie a good load of them. But this is definetly possible to get all classes redo and balanced in 2 years... ;)

The thing also, if they too insist to redo one class at a time, this will end not being balanced or so I guess... :)

    *nearly, some things stay

If it's going to take more than a year to do all the classes, they need to provide us with more info than that graphic that doesn't tell us much of anything. They've obviously already thought about each class and probably have some idea of what each will look like. It's unreasonable to expect players to remain for years without knowing how their favourite class(es) will change.

I want to see a roadmap with a timeline. I want to see a preliminary idea of what each class's skills will look like. Of course, it can be subject to change. But it would be nice to at least have some idea of how it's going to play out.
