Help! I can't get rid of my monkey pet even after deleting the item from inventory

Just like the subject says. Having that stupid monkey follow me around making noise was/is just silly. So, I right clicked on the monkey item in inventory, deleted.
But the darn thing is following me around still. I've just rolled my eyes at first, but now I'm realizing in PvP, as a Nightblade, this SUCKS! Monkey is giving away my position.
I submitted a bug...twice now. First time,t wo weeks ago, I got an email telling me how to delete the item, obviously nobody read anything.
Just filed another last night.
Anyway, checking the community for help. Thoughts? Thanks in advance!

✭Yeah, I stuffed the monkey in the Guild Bank and forgot all about it.

Chatoyancy✭✭✭Weird -- did you have the monkey out when you deleted it? That's definitely a bug.
You could maybe ask Customer Support if they will give you your deleted monkey item back and see if getting it out and putting it away will make it go away, but that would still involve going through support again. I can't think of anything you could do user-side other than keep contacting support.

Why couldn't you have just double clicked your pet in inventory OP? Or store it in a bank - why would you delete the beta reward in the first place lol?

I'm actually sort of tempted to do that now because it would be nice to have a pet out without having to waste inventory space on it. I'd just hate to lose the item permanently if/when it got fixed.1 -
