On PS NA it is already one bar until sometime in the late afternoon most days.

That's a function of demographics more than anything else. 50% of MMO players are in full time employment, a further 25% are full time students. Average age is around 26, but the largest age groups is 25 - 40.

Also, only 50% play more than 18 hours a week.

I have to ask where you're getting these numbers.

I queued into Cyrodiil early afternoon years ago so I could avoid a long queue.

    Which years? 2020 - 2023 ish?

Been doing PvP every day in the main campaigns since Elsweyr or before, whenever that was.

Right. So that time a few years ago where there were loads of players during the day would have been when people had a truckload of time on their hands during the day.

25M Players according to ESO. Cyrodiil holds 900 players max. One Campaign? It should be full 24/7. We'll see how Vengeance 4 and template PvP goes.

    The players aren't the problem.

After reading Jessica's post it's obvious vengeance was never just a test.

I'll be refraining from playing any version of vengeance from here on out. If ZOS can pledge not to do their jobs and make an effort to fix Cyrodiil, then I can pledge not to play their vengeance abomination.

I'll be right there with ya. No reason to play ESO if they take away the PvP I log on to play.

Two factions deciding to take their ball and go home and the third faction taking advantage of that to steamroll over everything is almost entirely what made the last Vengeance so awful.

So if you want to sabotage the test, don't play. Mind you, that's childish, petty, and willfully mean to the people who actually are engaging in the test. Make your choices, I guess.

I can't be forced to play vengeance and I won't play it. Ever. Never again. I've already been made the fool by being tricked into playing the earlier versions.

They officially communicated that Vengeance and the new mode are coming regardless. That part has already been decided and is in active development.

There is a massive difference between reduced theorycrafting and no theorycrafting.

Every emp group is running the same exact builds. All the ballgroups are running the same exact builds. The 5 or 6 player troll groups are running the same exact builds. Which is why i find it hilarious about people complaining about losing their "unique" character builds.

We couldn’t Subclass last Vengeance, and the campaign was weaker for it.

They straight up said that Grey Host would be active alongside Vengeance for the latter half of that test. If you are interested in keeping Grey Host, the best thing to do is to go into GH during that time while it coexists with vengeance to prove that Vengeance will not be able to compete.

We should get an article introducing the next test in the next two days.

So you're saying they are going to turn gray host on like half way through this vengeance test? Because i thought they said, like a few months ago, it was going to run along side gh during the December test. But then today i saw it was just vengeance.

From the stickied thread at the top if this forum:
Lastly, the Gray Host campaign (as it is now) will be up during the second half of this Vengeance test and will monitor server performance for both campaigns. This comparison will allow us valuable side-by-side data. This will be our final “adding new things” test where we compare the game performance of Vengeance with what a campaign looks like with all the systems turned on.

I’m good. Im not beta testing a gamemode that 10 years ago worked just fine. ZoS can push through with this abomination but if GH does get removed. That’s it for me

It’s like Order 66, purge the remaining PvPers off the game. I will never forgive this betrayal if scenario 2 goes ahead

this is why i stopped after being a sub since beta. It has taken them WAY to long to start looking at these things. Then when they do look at it they take a - lets stip 99% of what ever little build identity you had away.

People likely will just not play the game. If people were willing to play imperial city, it would thriving outside of events. But IC is always dead throughout every test. It only had maybe a little relevancy during the first few weeks of no proc and then went back to normal.

I was there and yes I have played since release and I did not like it. This is a MMORPG you build your charactors and you play your builds. They’re basically creating a first-person shooter with loadouts that solves the exact problems we’ve been screaming about in ESO PvP for years—speed creep, insane healing, proc-set overload, and groups stacking unlimited buffs.

The issue? They went too far in the opposite direction.

If ZOS doesn’t have the resources or the engine capability to fix the current PvP environment, just say it. Most of us actually understand how the business side works. What we don’t appreciate is pretending everything is fine while building a separate PvP game that addresses all the stuff we’ve been asking to fix.

Vengeance just feels off to me. The balance isn’t really there—one class is noticeably stronger than the rest, snares are extremely oppressive, and the whole thing still feels like a mess even after changes.

A lot of people don’t seem to realize that this isn’t solving the core problems we’ve had in ESO PvP. If anything, it feels closer to logging into an FPS with loadouts than an Elder Scrolls PvP experience. I’m just not a fan of that direction.

I’m all for modifying abilities or limiting what sets work in PvP. We know healing is busted. We know speed is out of control, especially in all the LOS-heavy fights. We know groups can stack buffs, heals, shields, and those pull sets that have been hated since day one. We know about unkillable tanks—and we know these things can be limited.

There’s so much that could be improved in the current version of Cyrodiil, but instead resources are going into this. And honestly, this new PvP mode doesn’t have any real depth. It’s basically a zerg fest. It may be better than the first two versions, but it still is what it is.

@ZOS_GinaBruno Something yall dont seem to realize is that what people want from pvp is for people to be killable, including ballgroups. Or maybe y'all do but are going about it the wrong way. As was said by @Durham vengeance isnt going to stop your balancing act, its only going to expose the problems of pvp with the core classes from the start. Sets gave us potential to close the gap between our chosen class and the op ones, and subclassing somewhat has that potential also, but your solution to both lag and revitalizing pvp numbers is a lot simpler.

Mym used to be so much fun, and I believe the last time it was, was during your release of plaguebreak, hrothgars, and Dark Convergence, glitches and problems aside, because it was a damage meta and people were killable. You guys moved in a bad direction when you gave vigor minor resolve, and nerfed the damage perks in the blue tree, making everyone much tankier. Between that, nerfing damage sets that can kill ballgroups like plaguebreak and azura's blight, and scribing skills adding even more healing potential, the game got staler because people stopped dying, making the pvp more frustrating and also attributing to the lag in the game because ballgroups spamming skills and running around keeps for sometimes hours was killing the server. The longer combat goes, the more unstable the game gets per person using skills.

In summation you guys really need to kill healing potential at least by 20 percent, if not 30. Limit heal stacking, unnerf sets that can kill the ballgroups, and when new players complain about the end game pvp being too hard to get into, you need to ignore them because clearly they're not sticking around when it is more accessible. These changes are a lot easier than trying to fundamentally change pvp, and even with vengeance you will still need to cut healing if you really want it to be successful and maintain its audience long term.

Which at this rate I can tell you, it won't.

tldr: nerf heals, bring back the damage meta. More fun for everyone, vengeance or greyhost.
