No console incremental patch this week?

I'm wondering why there is no console incremental patch 1 this week? console update is out for 2 weeks and I was expecting incremental 1 this week.

I'm wondering the same. Can't collect the skyshards, can't even finish two WBs because there is absolutely nobody around to do them because they lined up another event after the zone went live. I'd normally have them done day one. But since last Saturday, I have been signing on at random times, even during "prime times", and waiting by one WB for up to 10 minutes, not a single player comes by, not a single zone chat message pops up. I guess we're waiting another week to finish the zone...

My guess would be that ZOS doesn't want to release a patch on a US holiday (Thanksgiving) when a lot of staff who would normally be handling that and monitoring for issues are going to be off until next week.

Thanksgiving is a quite major US holiday.

    Edit

In fact, it's really only second to Christmas, in terms of how hard people celebrate it.

We are getting Vengeance 4 next week starting on Dec 3, and all Campaigns need a maintenance beforehand to spin them up and down correctly, so they may just be putting the incremental together with that maintenance we'd expect between the 1st and 3rd.

ZOS stated somewhere it would be January. I'll try to dig the link out when I remember where. It was in one of the bug forum posts.

Very frustrating not to be able to collect eastern solstice skyshards and finish the achievement. Also Solstice treasure map IV is still bugged. Never preordering again.

I agree it is very sad and discouraging that they are choosing to leave Eastern Solstice broken on consoles until next year. Glad for the few PVPer’s that are left, they are now focusing on that part of the game [Vengeance], but it is taking away from the PVE side, I feel.

Personally, I am not even going to attempt to do the story or achievements until after the update. I wonder if many others are feeling the same and that is contributing to the empty zone. The only part I am doing is running my alternate characters through the new public dungeon to work on getting the fragments since only 1-4 drop each time I do the dungeon. Sure would have been nice to do the new zone during the holidays.

    Stay safe :)

I collected the skyshards from eastern Solstive with one of my others chars which never entered Solstice before and got the achievement.

always wondered why the rest of the world should care, to not have like european department through all this years is ridiculous, considering how much the rest of the world is paying

Glad it’s working for you but none of my 10 characters are able to collect Eastern skyshards.

I mean, if I do business with a Japanese country, I expect it's workers to follow Japanese holidays. If I do business with a European country, I expect its workers to follow the various European holidays. The idea that American workers have the day off on American holidays shouldn't be a surprise. Not every company is going to have a European team. When you decide to spend money on a live service game based overseas, there's got to be some understanding of that. I've played games where I had to wait for holidays I didn't personally celebrate too.

What does this mean though? Are they all on vacation through the end of the year? Is that why we don’t get an update until January?

You forgot Kwanzaa! But yes, the US is pretty much in a food coma from late November through to mid-January.

More on topic: A bit of speculation on my part, but they did say in an announcement that they wanted to make Writhing Fortress available to content pass holders again in the New Year so they could experience it properly. That means working out the bugs, then take at least 2 extra weeks for console certification before a patch can be released. Given how crazy December can be, it would make sense to reserve more time and go over as much as possible before then. The last thing ZOS needs right now would be to make WF available again, and have things still not working fully.

US productivity drops like a stone in Q4 compared to Q1 - Q3, dragged down by the near month long break due to all the holidays.

I'm aware. I was more asking why label those as US specific. Q4 drops aren't US specific either. EU production drops are right there alongside the US.

Europe doesn't have the same massive shutdown the US does. Productivity in December takes no where near the hit it does in the US.
