I cannot put away furniture in my house

When I try to do this the game tells me that my bag is full. This is false.

We need to open the Housing menu, go to the Retrieve tab and choose if we want furnishings to be placed in our Inventory, or the Bank, or the Furnishing Vault when we pick them up. Check to see what it's set to and if that's full.

Oh, I can now pick up furniture, but that seems to remove them instead. As in i can't access them in any menu.

Opening the Housing menu and using the Place tab doesn't show the furnishings? Where do you have it set to place them when picking them up?

Oh, I somehow found the right menu option. I had to switch it to something else for the inventory tab to appear again. I have no idea why any of this happened.
