You need to bring in new languages to increase the game's audience.

I was thinking that with the decrease in ESO players, in addition to the difficulty options for the open world, which is something I really hope you bring to the game, you should bring more languages to the game, such as Portuguese. Today, with the advancement of artificial intelligence, it is much more accessible to translate a game.

Sadly, they seem currently unable to even offer the game in the languages that they officially support.

lol don't hope for that, they don't even dare giving the french community the full voiceover translation of Solstice for some reason (currently only the west and the first dlc dungeon of the content pass are fully translated, the second dlc dungeon pack and the east of solstice and the wall event are not voiced in french) and when we ask them why we don't have it and when will we have it they 100% ignore us.

I genuinely don't know how other people react to the absence of their languages but if you look at any store in Italy, any product that doesn't have Italian language gets bombed of negative reviews demanding said language to be added.
Italian as a language gets snobbed every time, mamma mia! XD

Uh, why not fix the game and start listening to the current players' feedback for game improvements so that people will have the incentive to come back? Why include an additional language?

This is actually a shockingly easy thing to do for text. They simply have to add a language file and an additional code to pick up the desired language.

It's the voiceover that would be the time consuming and expensive part. There is a LOT of dialogue.

Yeah, personally I think just having subtitles could be enough, but asking someone to read in 2025/2026 is unrealistic... Wait, nevermind, asking someone to maintain attention on a vocal dialogue is unrealistic just as much - we're cooked!

Technically it would be possible for an addon to at least have any language for the UI, but not dialogue/names. Though that would require someone translating ~20,000 lines of text.

I dont agree, subtitles fine but anything beyond english voice over I think is a huge waste of resources that is better spent on more content and quality control

There's already a very good Portuguese translation from the community, it just needs to be incorporated into the game.

Why not have the UI and all text easily translatable? This does not affect the game's performance. Thankfully there is now addon compatibility across platforms. Voice acting would however be a hinder for a true immersible experience as those are sound files.

Agreed! Though I would love for the game to support multiple VO languages(including my own), this would be a major cost. Too major.

Only two MMO's are fully VO (ESO is one of them). All other MMO's are only main quest line and/or repeatable lines having VO. The reality is that having VO is just too expensive for MMO's, even for only the english language. (Maybe AI will change this at some point in the future.)

PS: VO = Voice Over. (Added this as I see many players use abbreviations I am not familiar with as a not native english speaker)

If you've the knowledge to post in English on the forums what's the problem, honestly?

Otherwise I agree with people saying it's a huge waste of resources trying to accommodate to too many languages. Just learn basics English.

I have a better idea. I know some players won't like it, and ZoS will definitely hate it, but…
What about someone actually fixing the damn game instead of constantly messing with the code and adding even more bugs? What about that?
Instead of bugs + bugs + a nonsense system that completely breaks the game’s lore, messes up animations, DPS sharing and logs (yes, these only help push players away), etc… how about fixing the game so players stay instead of leaving? Seems fair?

I truly like my idea. Lately, every time ZoS makes any change in the game, it just gets worse and worse than the previous one. All we see is the game going downhill, and they keep pushing it even harder toward the bottom.
Why do we need anything other than: "Fix the game and bring ESO back"?

We have a lack of players because this is not ESO anymore. And, the game is going to fail hard.

Not strictly true. The UI is populated using LUA as is mostly for static text, but things like subtitles, mob/npc names, quest text are pulled from the language files in C++ which is much quicker and more performance efficienct than LUA.

I found that translations tend to fall behind the original voice over for many games in terms of quality (on average). Text translations would be completely fine though, but probably quite treacherous when it comes to items and combat relevant stuff.

    I don't need new language. :*
English is not my native language, but I keep staying English version from 2014.

Because there're so many of memorial voice actor from Skyrim, Fallout, and MassEffect series.
So I need English Sub and English voice actor for my Tamriel story.

Honestly say, If I play ESO with my native language, maybe I can't understand
new dungeon mech anyway. (It's a visual design problem, not language problem at all. :s )
    My playing time Mon-Friday UTC13:00-16:00 [PC-NA] CP over2000 now.
    I have [1Tough tank] [1StamSorc-DD] [1Necro-DD] [1Real Healer]
    with [1Stam Blade].
But, I'm Tank main player. Recently I'm doing Healer.

Of course one has to memorize the English names to communicate with others, but I don't find it difficult.

If there's a need to look up some very specific thing, I can recommend eso-hub.com, as every item/skill/set/etc is listed in 5 different languages there and you can easily see all translations by just doing a mouse-over over the language list displayed on each individual item page.

Still, I don't have the impression that adding more languages is possible right now, if not even the long-established translations can still be maintained anymore, it seems.
