There should be some things that are not meant to be solo'd and should take a long time if you try. Soloing a dragon can take around a half hour or more unless you are using a really specialized build and stay solid with your rotation and mechanics. Harrowstorms if you can control the fodder can go a little quicker but still is kind of a long fight.

The problem is that when the crowds are gone, new players and alts can't get the quests/achievements done, which isn't a good experience. Not everyone can solo a 30M boss (or has the physical endurance to be in combat for 30 mins straight).

Again I think there needs to be content in the game that isn't meant to be solo'd. I know this is an answer some people hate but it is an MMO so some grouping with other players is to be expected. One guild I am in still does a dragon run once a week and guild members can request other runs of that type.
If everything is leveled down to individual players being able to easily solo the content that leaves players that like to group left feeling bored. There has to be a balance and there is a ton of stuff to do solo.

As someone who likes to solo dungeons, I... agree. Group content should be too difficult for solo by conventional means. I don't like artificial stops, like stand on these plates so something opens, instead the content should be difficult enough to discourage solo play. I wouldn't want that they start to think about solo players when designing group content because I solo for the extra challenge. My only request would be to not implement artificial stops and let me try to bang my head against the wall in case the wall gives up.

I agree the artificial stops stink. I don't like the mechanics where one player gets stunned and health begins to drain until another player interrupts either but a lot of those can be survived if you catch the telegraph. I know why they are included but it can sure wreck a solo run.

"It's an answer people hate because there is a ton of group content in this game and very little challenging solo content.

There are 58 dungeons, 14 trials, 4 arenas, the Infinite Archive, and Bastian Nymic. Of that instanced content, only 2 arenas and IA are meant to be solo content."
Meant to be solo'd and able to be solo'd are two separate things. Some of that group content doubles as challenging solo content. Most dungeons can be done solo and a good number can be solo's on hard mode. Bastian Nymic can be solo'd. I consider myself an average player and managed it once. Got really close a few other times before having to log out for real world commitments.

"Does anyone group for world bosses and incursion type events? It’s overland so people just show up. You don’t have to group to get into an instance together like you do for dungeons and trials."

I'm in three guilds that still do weekly events for world bosses and incursion events. One guild still does weekly skyshard runs. But yeah for the most part players just show up. I think that is good for the game. I like seeing players in zone chat asking for help with a world boss or some other content. To me that is part of what makes a good MMO players asking for and receiving help with content.

and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."

Or use Precog, like with Zaan. Or use DOTs and PO like with the minotaur in the last boss area of Bloodroot Forge.

I don't think ESO's solo content is that good. Paradoxically my favourite content is to solo dungeons and least favourite is the actual solo content. I would rather do a pug trial than MA one more time.
