And the next related bug: At a different stage, the quest description and what you're actually supposed to craft don't match. It says you're supposed to craft a glyph with what would be denima (not sure how the whole glyph is called in English, so I'm using that for clarity), but if you do that, the quest doesn't progress and can't be turned in. What you can actually turn in are glyphs crafted with deni instead...
Does it at least show the little quest icon beside the correct glyph in the crafting UI while at the enchanting station?

I feel like making a bingo card for this year’s letter.
You know it’s going to be chock-full of mindless platitudes, congratulations to the server that “won” the rigged race, and zero indication of anything to come in the future beyond “[remains silent]”
I'm not defending the event design but for what it's worth you don't have to grind the quests, or do any more of them than you want to.

That's true, but the thing is that we're not able to play the new content that we bought until these milestones are hit. So yes, I could just keep checking in every few days to see if progress has been made. But that's not how I play this game. I make time to login, do my guild housekeeping etc., and then proceed to some questing. It's a letdown to realize that, although I can look forward to some new content, I won't see it for a while yet.
I object to the basic release strategy. Other forms of engagement motivation, like Golden Pursuits, at least preserve the open world / open game model. This gated content is basically a closed world approach. We can't get to the next step in the story until we follow the prescribed path. Getting away from those plot tunnels is exactly why we loved Oblivion and the other Elder Scroll open worlds.
I have no trouble with events being designed this way. But not for getting access to new paid content.

It annoys me to no end that we have this really cool stealth-based mission type for over a decade now yet it has never been used or expanded on since the Thieve's Guild and Dark Brotherhood DLCs. Like come on, the tools are all there, get creative with them, please.

This could be a problem for those that are not involved in the thieves' guild. Personally, I think all stealth quests should be in the Thief line and not in general quests.

My point was, there are so many avenues to explore at this point in ESO's lifetime that an event which is primarily composed of a bunch of fetch quests is hardly original when there are things like Sacraments and Heists which have been ENTIRELY ABANDONED since their conception... The only system which got added to this year was Antiquities with the new mythics. 0 new Scribing Grimoires, 0 new companions, and 0 new ToT decks this year. Heists and Sacraments never saw anything new.

When you go through the scrying questline, you have several ways to complete objectives to progress the quest. You can kill some monsters, do pvp, steal stuff, etc.
It would have been good if the same approach had been taken for the wall event.l and you could choose between different missions. For example:
“Alliance X isn’t living up to their promises - go take one of their outposts in Cyrodiil to get a reward box”
“Go steal from a safebox in any Alliance X zone to get military secrets”
“General so and so is getting lazy, beat them in a game of ToT to make them focus on the war effort again”
Just… anything besides kill X monsters with a random chance of about 9% to get a drop per monster where you also have to compete with other players for said drops.

Attempting to force group play is not an answer I would get behind. As one of several options yes, but not as a single path to a specific reward.

i'm impartial to it, makes the zone more populated & it's similar to stuff WoW did back in the day with having a large group open a raid... locking an entire zone off with some stuff I wanna get to eventually kinda stings a bit but the golden boxes every day til it's open then going back to doing normal stuff ain't too bad.
I would put a survey right in the game UI, and award 5000 seals for completing it. Then the devs would really know what people like. The forums are visited only by a fraction of players.

And the participants here are known to be primarily negative about everything. If you go to other online ESO hangouts, you'll see comments about that. A lot of players have left the forums and/or don't want to participate here because of the constant whining.
I'll admit, I can whine with the best of them. Seeing what outsiders think of the forums has made me dial it back a bit. At the end of the day, I really do love this game and want to see it succeed. So yeah, hopefully ZOS is listening to the feedback here, but also from other places, where the feedback tends to be a bit more balanced. I guess the forums attract a lot of negative nellies.
Echo chambers are not a good source of feedback. Platforms like Reddit and Discord secure more focused group of player which lends itself to echo chamber environment. The fora is not perfect, but it draws a more diverse group of players. Perhaps Reddit and Discord is used more for socializing and less for realistic, focused feedback so it feels less negative. I believe many of the posts in the Fora are from players that are very passionate about the game and are less prone to developing conversations.
(This opinion which comes from a member that gets attacked almost as often as they post. I understand there is negative vibes from some folks.)
Two things:
Two, I love how this event has killed Alikr dolmen groups. That constant event made adventuring in that zone mildly annoying at times in various ways. I am making great progress on ranking up my alternate morphs on a few toons.

The forum often feels like an echo chamber, with multiple threads about the same thing, and multiple posters in the same thread saying the same thing. I don't hang out on the ESO reddit much, but I've seen negative comments about the official forum there, including referring to it as a "toxic cesspool" in a thread with a lot of likes. It's unfortunate that some players have dismissed the forum and the opinions expressed here because of the constant negativity. Also, there are all sorts of topics on the reddit, including feedback threads. I don't see it as more of an echo chamber than the forum.
Can't speak to Discord or other places except to say that the guild discords I belong to tend to be waaaaaaaay more positive than the forum. Like, there's no comparison. And these are active players posting, and many of them have been playing for years. Same for in-game guild chat.
I started a thread in the General Discussion forum about what players like about the writhing wall event. In my opening post, I specifically asked that people not complain because there are loads of other complaint threads, but quite a few of the usual negative nellies couldn't help themselves and complained in the thread anyway (expressing the same opinion they'd already expressed multiple times in the complaint threads). Of course, nobody can control what anyone posts in a thread, but it does illustrate how a lot of people here love to complain. It's understandable that some players have written off this forum and spend their time, and give their feedback, elsewhere.
Anyway, this is getting off topic (sorry). I was just agreeing with another poster that the forum only represents a small part of the player base. And it tends to be negative most of the time. I'm sure ZOS is aware.

I think it's an inevitable consequence of having an official forum. People who just want to chat about the game will go to whichever platform they prefer, whether that's here, Discord, reddit, social media, whatever, but people who want to complain without feeling like they're shouting into space will always come here, because it's where they've got a chance of ZOS seeing their feedback.
It's definitely not platform related, because I've seen the exact opposite for games which have a fan forum and an official Discord - the forum is mostly positive (or at least neutral) with people chatting about the game and the Discord feels like scrolling through endless lists of complaints, because it's where people go to get their complains heard.
