Hello everyone, this is the first time I open a discussion here, sorry if I post it in the wrong place. I was playing PVP on BG and a guy in the other team suddenly wrote me this:

Congratulations! It looks like you’ve got your first hate-whisper if you are not sure how to interpret this guy.
I may be wrong but it appears to me that you interfered in this guy’s duel (in BGs lmao).

Some advice:
1. Edit your screenshots before posting on the forum to remove all names/user ID (naming and shaming is against Community Rules).
2. Ignore such folk as they might be trying to provoke you into whispering smth offensive for which they might report you, and you might get banned).
3. Don’t take salty whispers personally, or think of it as a compliment of your skill.

I edited the post deleting his name, I didn't want to shame anyone, I'm really confused about what he wanted to say.
Yes, usually I ignore the "hate-whisper", but this one was a weird one, he also was talking about a permaban and other things, I honestly didn't understand half of the thing he wanted to say. I'm not even a pro in pvp, so it is surreal lol

Don't worry about it, you'll encounter this kind of thing often.
Just don't give these weirdos a chance to report you for chat abuse.
Anyway, I'm sure that the good things you encounter in the TESO community will outweigh the bad.

I only have one question: how are you able to receive whispers with 380 ping? lol! My god... you play this game, in PvP, with 2 bars and 380 ping? Bro, you're a damn hero.

This one is weird because it is nonsensical, maybe an issue of eng not being their native language, or perhaps this person happened to be under the influence of some substances and they lost all coherence of thought. But some keywords like "permaban" and the general tone of these whispers point to saltiness, and the final insult reveals the motive.

True! 95% of the players are amazing people

I work in China, and here the best ping i ever got is 280, it always raises on pvp and crowded areas ^^

This ping (or higher) is daily ESO life for those of us outside of NA or EU regions.

Oceanic region for example is impossible to get below 280 ping to the EU servers (or ~200 ping to NA servers) due to the sheer distance between that region and either server (that 280 ping is also with a gaming VPN that looks for the most direct/stable connection, without the VPN it's more like 400 ping with constant spikes to 3k+) and yet some of us still attempt to play end-game ESO (PvP and PvE) under these conditions and even sometimes can still somehow make it work.

Back to the topic of the thread though, I agree with previous comments, just ignore that person and move on (add them to your ignore list if you haven't already to prevent any further whispers if they are causing you any concern).

They just seem like a very unpleasant (sad and pathetic) person in general if they are immediately going to those kinds of threats just for being killed in a PvP mode that requires deliberately queuing for.

What a schmuck (not you OP, the person who whispered you).

I have received exactly one BGs hate whisper in 5+ years of playing. Someone whispered me "ling". That's it. One word, no context. I'm still not entirely sure what they even meant. This was back in the 4v4v4 days

Personally, I send "love whispers/PMs". If someone has an awesome build, or is just really skilled, I tell them so. Made a lot of friends on PSN that way, including a couple "high profile" PvP players.

OP, you were obviously doing something RIGHT. Keep your head up and keep on winning!

Oh, I remember the first hate whisper I got in Cyrodiil. I was so proud of myself, especially since I'm not a PvPeer.

As for the topic at hand, I can't seem to understand half of what the hater said, but they appear to be accusing OP of some sort of PVP exploit. Maybe they have some addon that measures stats such as damage inflicted and the app gave a wrong number.

On one side, shame on the hater for not going through the trouble of making themselves intelligible. On the other side, kudos to OP for getting an incomprehensible mess of a hate whisper, I guess that's extra points!

They talk about some LFG-Tool, which makes me think about addons like “Autoinvite” or “Better Rally”. Perhaps they were thinking about all the instances where innocent players got bans because of addons, like the one that sends an email to all the guildies, and they wished smth like that to cause OP’s “permaban”.
Then they accused the OP of being a “duelleecher”, which is imho the most hilarious part of it.

Doesn't even have to be that.
A certain subset of players consider themselves so l337 that everything that kills them must be due to an exploit or cheating because how else could they possibly lose?
