What!!
Thank you!!!
But also, had a question. Are the legacy ones going to be sellable? Or will they stay bound?
If we open them from the “unknown” envelopes will they bind then? Or will we be able to sell individual specific zone surveys?
Thank you!!!

Hopefully there will be some way of knowing this!!

I appreciate what ZoS was trying to do with surveys but I feel like the (my) issue with them just shifted, rather than was resolved. Before, I had tons of stacks of surveys, waiting until I got a good chunk to do in a particular area. This took up a lot of space, clearly. Now, I have less space taken up, but I have to open ALL of them to see if I have a good number in any one zone. Which is a lot of clicking, and I'm back to a large amount of space being utilized again.
- If you did surveys as you got them, nothing changed. You'll still do them as you get them, meaning you basically have an extra click to see where you need to go.
- If you did surveys all at once, once you had a lot, a little changed. You'll save space until you're ready but once you're ready, you have to click a ton and then you go collect them all.
- If you discriminately collected once a specific zone reached a certain threshold, you now won't even know about it until you open everything and then you're basically back to where you were before this change was made.

For #1:
If you’re like me and do daily crafting writs on all your alts before doing master writs on your main character, then you have to scroll down on each character to the Unopened section at the bottom of your inventory list to place them in your bank first. They used to be in Supplies closer to the top of your inventory.
Then, on your main character, you have to scroll down to the Unopened section of your bank, pull them all out, then scroll down in your inventory to Unopened and click to open each one, then scroll up to Supplies to see what they are, an annoying addition to my daily routine.
It’s a lot more than just one click.

Lazy Writ Crafter can auto deposit surveys and writs into your bank.
As for withdrawing items from the bank, I use the Search field almost entirely by instinct anymore. It's just a habit I fell into that really speed things up. And on PS5 the virtual keyboard word prediction has learned to autofill "writ" after just typing the letter "w".
[Edit] The search tool works for depositing as well if you're adverse to using addons.
