First problem, Cyrodil is a PvP zone and I do NOT PvP. Can I genuinely travel Cyrodil without needing to engage in PvP of ANY kind? I doubt it.
Second problem, I am Daggerfall Covenant and the dig site is on the FAR east (right hand) side of the zone. I've only been to Cyrodil twice and each time that area is NOT under Daggerfall control and I have never been to that side of the zone.
Third problem and probably the biggest one I have - I cannot recall out of Cyrodil unless I am at my faction's base camp. I know I can port within control points which might get me close or even back to Daggerfall base camp. But, I want to go dig up this treasure and then IMMEDIATELY port out of the zone. As far as I know, this is impossible. The ONLY workaround I have found for getting out of Cyrodil other than using the wayshrine at my faction's base camp is to queue for a dungeon, wait for the queue to pop, enter the dungeon and then leave the dungeon. I did this once on my second visit to Cyrodil and when I left the dungeon I was back in the "real" world and not stuck in Cyrodil.
I understand that some folks enjoy PvP and I say, "More power to you. It's important to do something you enjoy." I do NOT enjoy PvP. At all. Which is why I avoid it religiously. And I think those that enjoy PvP are grateful to me for NOT doing PvP but I could be wrong. /shrug
So. Any useful suggestions that might make a trip to Cyrodil to dig up this treasure quick and easy followed by a quick and easy exit? Please let me know your thoughts.
Thank you.
Put it in a chest or your bank and pick it up with an EP toon?Horace-Wimp wrote: »I have had a Cyrodil Treasure Map in my Inventory for about a year now
You'll be disappointed. But yeah, go for it.Horace-Wimp wrote: »I would like to go to Cyrodil and dig it up just to see what actual treasure it holds.
Yes. If you hang around keeps or resources, you'll be attacked. If you go around doing PVE, questing, dolmens, treasure maps, fishing, you will most likely not meet anyone and even if you do, the will most likely ignore you.Horace-Wimp wrote: »Cyrodil is a PvP zone and I do NOT PvP. - Go during off-peak hoursHorace-Wimp wrote: »I am Daggerfall Covenant and the dig site is on the FAR east (right hand) side of the zone.
- Mostly I use the jump to IC trick. As in, queue to Imperial City and then either exit or queue back to Cyrodiil.Horace-Wimp wrote: »I cannot recall out of Cyrodil unless I am at my faction's base camp.

Now I suppose since treasure maps are in fixed locations it is entirely possible there are trolls camping out there hoping to catch someone unawares, but it's worth a try at least.

Perhaps during an event there might be some totally mad ganker having nothing better to do but to wait for ages for this one PvEer going to pick up their treasure. I don’t think so though, everyone knows the best ganking spots are towns and their quest givers.
Chances of crossing enemy player at a map location are 0.0001 - if another player goes to pick the same map at exactly the same time.

This, I did Cyrodil master angler without getting killed once, even fished with an enemy.
