UPDATE 48 gamebreaking combat bugs

In the first clip you'll see me trying to use abilities on an enemy ,my magica being wasted and animations kinda working but they dont actually connect to the guy (no hes not roll dodging).I even streak him and you can see he takes no damage from streak either.

In the second clip theres new bug that you can break free without being cc ,while on cc immunity even and meanwhile you cant block or bash

This update is gamebreaking for cyrodiil.I wont even go to how you made crystal weapon and psijic spammable unusable.
Please fix.

Saw similar on the first night in trials - it's not just PVP it's across all areas of the game - there is another report as well.

I much as i enjoy TOT - this is a much more important issue to resolve.

Same here, now very frequent "stuck in endless toppling charge" bug with skill bar completely greyed out, target who stop receiving any damage and the list goes on... Unplayable.

This is still happening with random players.Once it happens both players cant damage each other and you have to either port to IC or log out for it to be fixed.Dying doesnt reset it either.

The constant bugged state where you can only break free instead of block or bash or any other core combat abilities is CONSTANTLY happening. It used to be a rare bug that would occasionlly occur, but this patch it is CONSTANT. Literally every fight in Cyrodiil it was happening to multiple people. My block percentage is normally mid-20s in a group fight, last night it was sub-8, because in most fights I literally could not. I'm surprised there's still no reaction from the team as It's breaking the core combat system, happens literally all the time and on so many levels.

Most expensive chapter/"Season Pass" to date.
Devalues ESO+ as you are paying for the dungeon DLCs, which previously you could access without buying, through ESO+
Smallest Q4 patch in history. Tiny zone, no big bug fixes, QoL, or combat changes.
Changes every animation in the game for no reason.
Breaks entire game.

I experienced all of those last night when I ran Direfrost with my wife. The game was nearly unplayable.

I'm dumbfounded and disgusted that these changes could have been pushed live during two events, one of which they hyped up as the next great thing for ESO. I play early access games with more polish than what ESO has these days.

Having the exact same issues.
Skills don't fire every 2nd to 3rd mob I attack. Either nothing happens and my character freezes and can only move around or it plays the animation without causing any damage.
And its not just skills, it's light attacks too!

Tried removing skill styles. Didn't change a thing.
Removed subclass skill lines and went back to the vanilla class lines. Same results.
It happens on class skills, guild skills, alliance war skills.

Cannot join any form of combat this way.

@ZOS_Kevin These are not minor issues. They interfere with progress whether one is solo, grouped, in pve or pvp, playing casually, or in progression groups. Why is there no acknowledgement of them?

Let's hope they also patch the plethora of other bugs introduced with Update 48 on that day...

Certainly says something that we got a bit of a show of increased communication around some of the event bugs and other bugs that came with u48, but the issues identified here and in numerous similar posts have not even been acknowledged as far as I can tell.

Sorry, but that strategy isn't going to work... these combat bugs are far too severe and pervasive to sweep under the rug in the hope that the fervor about them will die down.

Crazy that absolutely none of this has been acknowledged at all.
I've now had multiple guilds cancel runs because the game is so broken.

Not sure why this isn't getting more attention. PvP is not even worth trying to play right now it's so bad.
Seems like the first step here should be for @ZOS_Kevin to acknowledge these bugs in the u48 known issues list.

To reiterate some of the major issues that are not on your list that I've been personally having:
- Players are locking themselves into the old "streak bug" state where they can't block and continually break free, this is happening 100x more often than it used to since this update. (It also feels like there is a second of lag where you can't move that happens a few seconds before this bug has been occurring lately... not sure what that's about.)
- Stun abilities are failing on a lot of players.
- Players can get into a state where they cannot be damaged.
- Using abilities that are targeted and have a cast time can cause you to get stuck in a state where you cannot cast any abilities, they are all greyed out.

And in this thread you can see some other issues players are having as well that are not listed in your thread.

Charge abilities cause me to freeze. I've experienced this with both Exploding Charge and Stampede. The skill will start and then I'll get stuck halfway to the target, with my character in unfinished attack mode. This lasts for several seconds, and until it stops, I can do absolutely nothing else. No other attacks, no dodge rolling, nothing except run around and wait for my character to unfreeze.

"Combat Animation Memory Reduction

We are implementing some backend changes to reduce the size of combat animation files to lower their impact on the game’s memory. Specifically, you should experience the following:

* The animation visuals after these changes should be virtually indistinguishable from the existing animations within the game.
* There will be no impact to light attack weaving or animation cancelling – they should work as they did before."

Who knew that such an innocuous little update would break the entire game's combat system?

Whoever pulled the trigger on this made a SEVERE miscalculation on what "virtually indistinguishable" means.

You know. The funny part is that content creators said that this update is nothing to worry about as it brings basically nothing or the changes are so minor.
Little did we know that we actually got problably one of the most game breaking updates up to date.

A rare one cared and showcased it, other's are probably as apathetic as their viewers and care little for stuff like that. I mean I've met people already saying it's not bad and mostly an overreaction, so we're here for awhile probably with such a backing.

You can see what that looks like to other people on the server on my last clip.The guy is charging for 10 seconds we can attack him but when he's unstuck boom back to 100% hp cause nothing of what we did mattered.Im still very baffled by the fact that no one from zos has acknowledged all these bugs

Does anyone here know if the bugs will be fixed with the maintenance today?

It's obviously unacceptable that they would break their game so terribly for a whole week, but at least maybe we'll be able to get further in our progs this week.

I've not seen anything detailing what's actually being done, but I am hoping beyond hope for a stealth fix for the issues.

My fear is that its just scheduled maintanence and the issues will be around for longer.

After a GvG this was what our crown had. While the steak bug has been a problem for a LONG time, since this update went live it has become way worse. Has anyone actually tested what causes this? I've always thought it happened when you break free from a Steak while under a Negate, but I haven't tested it.

Specifically, I'm referring to the bug that prevents you from blocking or sprinting. It also causes you to always be able to break free. (CC immunity on demand)

Is zos going to acknowledge these issues? Where is the new leadership that was so interested in player feedback and improving communication? Where is our combat lead? Why aren't these issues being added to the u48 known issues thread? Why hasn't a community manager even so much as stated that they see these reports and are investigating? Is this the intended state of combat until u49?

The stated purpose of the maintenance is backend updates; it does not appear to be a patch maintenance so I would not get your hopes up about any fixes.
