Removing Map Based Leads?

Nested RNG is the pits. I'm really discouraged that I can't get more of the West Weald furnishings without 100s of maps worth of grind. That's simply a disgusting level of grind worst than the worst gatcha game out there. And to add to that, we can't even buy some of them from the vendor if we ever do get to 3/3.

Thanks for these numbers. I also considered once to go for the full 3/3 codex entry collection. And although I like to grind sometimes, I definitely don't like it that much.

Now I am just happy if the question mark in the antiquities list is replaced with one nice picture. Good enough for me.

The only furniture I really wanted was one Apocryphal Well. And boy, that took some time. But as I finally got the last missing part of three, I was quiet happy about it.

I have one well, and have pretty much given up on being able to get a 2nd or 3rd.
I still don't have a lot of the map based furnishings that I wanted, and have just given up on it.

Really hoping ZOS addresses this somehow, but not sure how to get their attention.

@ZOS_Kevin is there anyway to have the appropriate team look at map based leads, and look into providing us a way to actually obtain these leads in a reasonable fashion?

Here's an idea (or more like, a very temporary bandaid on what is still a fundamentally broken system) - what if those absolutely useless blue event boxes from the Writhing Wall event could drop Solstice treasure maps? At least that would be SOMETHING.

Agreed. I've done the "buy a ton of maps hoping for 1 lead" thing multiple times. It's invariably been a waste of money. I've given up on ever getting those leads.

And I'm not willing to farm IA to get the archival fortunes to buy the maps whenever Ools sells them. I farmed it for the gear, and the leads it drops. I'm not doing more.

Nested RNG is awful. Non-weighted RNG is awful. Please change both.

So I dug up a solstice map a few days ago and got a lead. Awesome!! But I have to dig it up in the part of the zone that isn't accessible yet.
So I doubt I'll be able to dig it up because the freaking wall probably won't be down in time before my lead expires. So what am I supposed to do?
I probably won't be able to get another.

The official solution is to abandon that scry so it resets and then you can rescry it until it appears in an accessible location.

    Ty. That worked. 😃

I agree. I've seen this feeling of frustration and being a victim of RNG leading multiple players in the housing community, across many of the major Discord communities, to give up on houses and even on the game itself in some instances.

This is what happened to me. The RNG across the game finally caught up with me last year (among other frustrations with the game), and I ended up leaving. I come to the forums once a month or so just to see if something has changed for the better, and all I see are that things seem to be the same or getting worse, and it just keeps reaffirming that I made the right decision in leaving because I remember being at the point of frustration that I see expressed in so many different posts on these forums and realizing life is too short to spend on a hobby that just didn't make me happy.

What I have learned is that I think MMOs are no longer my thing. With my job and home responsibilities, I have precious little time for gaming and when I do, I want to enjoy myself, relax, and feel like I'm accomplishing something.

I switched to single-player games now for the past year or so (whenever I stopped playing ESO regularly), and I'm actually enjoying myself and relaxing as I game because I feel like I'm actually progressing and getting rewarded for the things I do even when I don't have a lot of time to play. There is no store shoved in my face with expensive items. Housing is fun because I'm not having to spend tons of real money, and there is not an endless grind hoping to get something related to housing. Nothing is locked behind content I don't enjoy. There is no FOMO going on. I could go on, but you get the point.

I do hope everyone who is experiencing this frustration either gets what they want/need from ESO eventually or are able to move on and find enjoyment again elsewhere. I completely get what you all are going through and feel for you.
