CASE (Character Addon Settings Editor) is a utility tool created for players who use many addons.
It helps you clean, organize, and transfer saved character data stored inside ESO’s SavedVariables folder — the place where all your addon settings live.

Default location:
C:\Users<YourUserName>\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live\SavedVariables

(Sometimes due to user mistakes that folder might be inside OneDrive section, or under Public user profile)

CASE allows you to:
— Remove leftover data from deleted characters.
— Transfer or adopt addon settings between characters and accounts.
— Remove unused addon save files.
— Clean up AddOnSettings.txt entries.
— Remove redundant libraries.
— Keep your setup optimized and fast.

⚙ Character Settings Removal
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Offers to remove addon data from characters. Pick carefully as it displays both existing and deleted characters at once.
Over time, this unused data bloats your SavedVariables files and slows down loading times. CASE cleans it safely.

How to Use:

• Click Select SavedVariables Folder and locate it.
• Wait for the scan to complete.
• (Optional) Enable Detailed Report to review cleanup results.
• Select unwanted characters and click Delete Settings.

⚙ Addon Settings Adoption
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Replace @AccountName, CharacterName, and CharacterID across all addon data.
Useful if you:
— Changed your account name and ESO can’t find your old settings.
— Want to share your complete addon setup with another player.

When adopting settings, update all three fields — especially CharacterID.
To obtain a correct ID for a logged in character, use this in-game command:
/script d(GetCurrentCharacterId())

How to Use:

• Enter the old and new @AccountName.
• Click Update @Account.
• Repeat for CharacterName and CharacterID.
  

⚙ AddOnSettings.txt Cleanup
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

This file stores which addons are enabled for every character and keeps records even if character or addon dont exist anymore.
Over time, it can store hundreds of unused entries.

How to Use:

• (Optional) Enable Detailed Report.
• In the left window, select characters that no longer exist.
• Click Delete Cached Character Data.

Additionally:

• (Optional) Enable Detailed Report.
• Click Remove Old Addon Data to erase entries for uninstalled addons.

⚙ Redundant SavedVariables Removal
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Finds and removes SavedVariables files belonging to addons that are no longer installed.
These leftovers often appear after manual or incomplete uninstallations via Minion.
Make sure to run this after Redundant Libraries Removal(if you used it).

(Optional) Enable Detailed Report to review which files were removed.


⚙ Redundant Libraries Removal

Finds and removes installed Libraries that none of your AddOns depend on.
These can be present due to mistakes or leftover after some addons uninstallation.

How to Use:

• Tap on Check For Redundant Libraries.
• If no redundant libraries are found, an info message will confirm this.
• If CASE will detect any redundant Libraries a new window will popup offering to review and remove certain libraries.

⚙ Character Settings Transfer

Copies addon settings from one character to another — even across different accounts and servers (EU ↔ NA).

How to Use:

• Open the Character Settings Transfer tab.
• Choose which addons to transfer (all are selected by default).
• Select the source character.
• Select the target characters.
• Choose the correct target character megaserver (EU or NA).
• (Optional) Enable Same Addons to copy ON/OFF states.
• (Optional) Enable Detailed Report.
• Click Transfer Addon Settings.

⚙ Account-Wide Settings Transfer
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Copies account-wide addon settings between accounts — ideal for multi-account setups.

How to Use:

• Open the Account-Wide Settings Transfer tab.
• Select which addons to transfer.
• Choose the source account.
• Select the target accounts.
• (Optional) Enable Detailed Report.
• Click Transfer Account Settings.

You can also permanently delete any account’s data here by selecting it and clicking Delete @Account Data.

⚙ In-Game Addon
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

CASE includes an in-game addon available under the CASE category in your settings menu.
It allows you to view your current and deleted characters directly inside ESO — a quick way to see if it’s time for cleanup.

Developed by @impda. Huge thanks for this amazing contribution!

• Always close ESO before using CASE. Otherwise, modified .lua files will be overwritten by the game.
• Create a backup of your SavedVariables folder before performing operations.
• To have fast access to CASE, right-click on it and in context menu select Send — Desktop (create shortcut). You will be able to open CASE anytime from your Desktop without a need to dig in AddOns folder.
• If you removing a character in game, and willing to make a new one with exactly same name, make sure to remove settings for that character first to avoid leaving data behind. As even when you create character with a same name, it will still be assigned a brand new ID.
• Source code is included in the download package.
• Report any bugs, odd behavior, or suggestions in the comments — your feedback matters!

• If two characters share the same name on EU and NA servers, only one will appear in the list. This is a technical limitation and cannot be fixed.
