Do you know which add on it is, is it one you have created or that someone else has created.. are you reloading the UI after installing
This on more than one addon.
Addon dev:
I have a user reporting that my addon failed to update and they want to try uninstalling in order to install again, but it keeps coming back when trying to uninstall. I already asked them to try deleting from ps plus, so unless they did it wrong (I have no idea how console things look), could this still be the same bug or similar? full conversation at https://www.esoui.com/downloads/fileinfo.php?id=3137#comments
ZOs contact:
So it's unclear why the update itself is failing, but we do uninstall without unsubscribing if it does. Which means the next time they log on the auto sync will try again to download. Not sure why the download is failing (we'd have to repro on our end for that), but they could try going to the website and unsubscribing from there and that should stop it from trying to redownload when they log in
Other addon dev:
is it as simple as creating an account, linking PS account, and it should sync what addons they've subscribed to? they're saying they don't see anything at all there in library/subs https://www.esoui.com/downloads/fileinfo.php?id=3137#comments
I saw some chatter today about the ingame addon list not loading for a while, not sure if that's related or if they're missing something in the account linking?
ZOs contact:
Ah yeah to be clear that would only work if their account is linked
This does raise a situation where someone is stuck subscribed to something, so I'll bring it up tomorrow and see if we can come up with something to avoid this in the future
Addon dev:
oh, so they had to have the accounts linked prior to subscribing for them to show up? 😖
thanks for looking into it!
ZOs contact:
So in order for the link to happen, the first party account (aka the playstation account in this case) would need to get linked to the bnet account. ESO does not currently do this, so my understanding is the only way that link would happen would be for a different game (like starfield for example) to establish that link. Although I'm not clear on the specifics (the fact that people can even get their bnet account to link up to their ingame account for ESO mods wasn't something we thought was possible until recently)
