Are there three or four glorious coffers available from the four available dailies? On PTS the Quartermaster Nurwalne's quest also gave a golden coffer, but the article only mentions the other three quest givers and their loot tables. @ZOS_Kevin y31qk2onxv6j.png

We issued a correction for this in the article. It should be four, rather than three.

Will the Writhing Fortress public dungeon/instance still be a thing that is available after the event ends? Or is this gone forever?

They said it will be available for 1 week after the final boss has been defeated by players for the first time.

Thanks @Syldras I think this might be the first time I pass a 'chapter' up then.

I think this is worth a direct targeted question to @ZOS_Kevin and the team, because I don't think it's clear.

If you read the article exactly as worded, it says "the third phase lasts one week from when the Writhing Fortress is first completed", which suggests that it's Phase 3, not necessarily the Writhing Fortress instance itself, which only lasts one week. Later on it also says "Those who see the war through till the very end can also earn the “Wall Breaker” title. To earn this reward, you must complete the Writhing Fortress during Phase 3 of the event." You could interpret this as saying that if you complete the Writhing Fortress at another time, not within Phase 3, you won't get the title, which would imply that the Writhing Fortress instance itself would still be available.

Dailies are one thing, but I also think it would be a bit odd for them to spend a lot of dev time on Public Instance content that only exists for a week. Don't forget that the Writhing Wall itself is also part of the zone story - for anyone who does Part 1 of the content at some point in the future, I think the wall will still be there. It's during the Zone Story Quest "Crossing the Wall", not any quests directly related to the event, that the wall itself is actually destroyed.

So the question for ZOS_Kevin and the team, to reiterate - will the Writhing Fortress instance still be playable after the end of the event? Thanks!

There is a ninja pulls video where he explains this stuff pretty well. The fortress will be there for 7 days. That's all. A waste in my opinion. I think it should be turned into an actual trial. Easy mode, which probably can be beaten by 4 people. Then a vet and hard mode. Why throw away all that work.

So im confused. Will dailies from the siege camps and other related quests persist beyond the event?
Yes. In the fourth paragraph from the bottom, it says rewards apart from the Wall Breaker title will be available from the camp daily quests after the event has ended.
I think it's only specifically the Siege Camp daily quests (which are this zone's version of World Events) that will continue to exist, so not Mirmal's Delve Dailies or the Dailies for Vitrified Souls etc. Would be good to get clarification on that though.
The Vitrified souls dailies are one quest offered by Orinde Glenuvon. They are not available after the event.

Would also like to know if the Writhing Fortress instance is specific to the event period, or if that will remain open as a Public Instance once the event is finished. Thanks!
Writhing Fortress is specific to the event period. It is gone once the event is over. For others noting disappointment that the event will not be available as a persistent public dungeon, we will pass that on to the team. The goal for this event is to make it apart of game history. Like "I was there for the Battle for the Writhing Wall". But totally understand the sentiment around wanting it accessible post event as repeatable content.

    A few more questions:
    1. Are these daily quests one daily quest per character or can you get can more quests from the same quest-giver?
    2. Are there different quests per quest giver that can be shared between group members like a most of zone daily quests?
    3. Can you even do the daily quests on multiple characters?

Looking forward to this unique event, but hopefully you can clear up some these questions.
    1. You can do multiple from each quest giver per day.
    2. Yes the quests are sharable
    3. Yes, contribution is recorded per character

    Thanks for the answers!

I definitely think the Writhing Fortress instance would work fine as standalone content, since on PTS it looks like you can access and complete it via the portal entrance without needing the associated event quest active. Thanks for taking that back to the team.

I have the pass. I will be playing live through the event. I just want to know, if a year from now, I create a new character and go through the Solstice Storyline, what will their experience look like?

It doesn't have to be repeatable content. From a story perspective, the Writhing Fortress location can be expected to remain (assuming it's not made of macguffin that evaporates). It could then be populated in the future by lesser enemies lowering the difficulty down towards normal public dungeon levels rather than super-awesome-one-time-event levels.

That would give people the opportunity to say "I was right _here_ when we killed X" and "it was much harder in my day".

Just my thought - I wonder how many of the Devs are gamers. Not just gamers generally but actually play ESO, the game they work on. So many decisions made (especially since and including AWA) seem to not make sense for someone who enjoys playing the game.

I could just about live with the "Oh, your the one that stopped the" comments on characters that haven't done whichever storyline the NPC was talking about, following AWA. But then came Multi-classing. Not sub-classing. As has been pointed out by others in other threads, sub-classing would be along the lines of sorc with speciality in fire magic and daedric summoning (including summon fire Atronach. How cool would that be?!) Or fighter in unarmed style (Monk). Warden with animal summoning etc, or Warden with elemental/natural magic. What we were given is multi-class.
Now, I've never been a particularly good PVP player, although I've had times/builds where I could hold my own (as long as I didn't come up against anyone on the 1% or so of the player base that understand every stat, buff, de-buff, armor set etc.), but with so much of the player base now all seeming to have the same build with Arcanist beam, well, I die even quicker. And it's more embarrassing when it isn't one of the 1% doing it.

But now we come to the 2025 content pass (reducing the point of having eso+ as has been mentioned many times, so, moving on) with a one and done event, including a one time chance for a title (I'm not bothered about that myself, others may be) and a one time dungeon as part of it. (Am more bothered about this and the thoughts behind it).

Why would players negative thoughts about this being a one and done dungeon even have to be forwarded to the Devs in the first place? They should know already that having it available for a short time only before it goes for good would have people questioning the decision.
If you are continually beating the same World Boss, Dungeon Boss, Trial Boss etc. no matter how may times you kill them elsewhere in the game , why remove this dungeon because the event has ended? I'm sorry, but limited time event, limited time title, limited time dungeon etc. all seem to point to "Buy the content pass or you'll miss out". So not a gamers choice, but suits wondering how they can maximize profits.

Surely when this was put to them, someone (being gamers!) would have been "What? We are creating a new dungeon that will only be accessible for a few weeks? As a developer I think that is a bad idea as my work will vanish soon never to be seen again. As a gamer this is a bad idea, because it's dumb!) Paying for one go at a dungeon. Yeah, right!

Content pass is currently on offer on xbox (35% cheaper), and I did think about it. Truly I did. But no. I can do without Solstice, and the one time event. At the rate things are going, I may soon be able to do without ESO entirely.
I'm really enjoying playing Skyrim and Oblivion again you see. (BTW - Oblivion 2006 and you remain mounted when riding into water. ESO - 2025, 10 years in before you can do this. Another 10 years before they can prevent you dismounting to harvest a torchbug, instead of performing a mounted jump which you wanted to do?

Skyrim 2011, and companions you can tell to stand on a certain spot, that can wait if needed, that can hold your inventory! How cool would it be if in ESO they could help you do Direfrost keep (for example), or could be relied upon to interrupt an enemy. Or they could all hold/have access to all the companion items rather than your own inventory be taken up by them?

I know not all of my post is about the writhing wall event in particular, but it does all link together with various iffy decisions that have been and are being made. Hoping they can get back on track, but doubting it.

This is a sad and sorry state to be in. In simple terms, this means if I'm unable to play for that specific event week, then a whole chunk of the season pass content (which I've paid for) becomes unavailable. The season pass content has already been pretty light, to then be in a position where it's simply not being provided because you cannot play that specific week is... well, in my view... reprehensible.

This is giving me bad memories of the first year of Guild Wars 2. Although that was free updates so at least no one was paying for stuff that was removed. Also they only did a one-time-only event once, because it went so badly they redesigned the format for all future releases to ensure each part would stay for at least a month so people could actually play it.

I suppose you could say it succeeded in "making gaming history" in the sense that that fans were required to step in and fill the gaping hole it left in the story, so there were loads of YouTube videos explaining what was missing, but I don't think anyone considered that a good thing (except maybe some of the people making the video who got free traffic to their channels).

But the only response you'd ever get to "I was there" was some version of "Oh so I can't play it? That sucks." No one cares that someone else logged into a game on a specific week, they care that part of their game is missing or "broken" and not going to be "fixed".

Maybe ESO will be the game that finally gets it right, but GW2 wasn't the first to try it or the only one doing it at the time and as far as I know the end result is always that it becomes a reason to avoid buying or returning to the game because it's broken and incomplete and you'll never be able to play it all anyway.

i am excited for the Writhing Wall event, but please pretty please do let us go back to the Writhing Fortress again. just as a location at least

i like to redo zone stories with my other characters months or years after doing them with my main character. it will feel weird missing part of the zone story with the Wall event stuff being one time only.

you could have a mini version of this event when you do Solstice zone events in the future perhaps?

I would really like some clarity on what the criteria are for qualifying for the "Wallbreaker" title is.

Completing the fortress. I'm on my phone and old so I'm not sure how to paste the text from the article but it seemed extremely clear to myself. I will say that the article could have been written better. If I can figure out how to do it I will attach the relevant info.

So the exact wording is "to earn this reward you must complete the writhing fortress during phase 3 of the event." That seems pretty clear to me.

Thank you for responding. I suppose my confusion comes from the following:

Is it the initial completion, the one that opens the wall, that counts?

And what constitutes completion? Defeating all the bosses? The final boss? Or just being present or grouped when the dungeon is cleared.

The FOMO really has it's hooks in me.

Ahhh. I think maybe I didn't fully understand your confusion. Maybe @ZOS_Kevin can clear it up but the writhing fortress is an instance. Like a dungeon or trial. You'll need people to do it since there's an upstairs and downstairs to be competed simultaneously. Like Hel Ra Citadel. So completing the writhing fortress is clearing that instance. That's the act of breeching the wall. That's what is immediately on the other side. Awful good aim of the guys blowing the laser through the wall lol, to open a hole right into their base. Hope that gets explained. I hope I was able to help. Yes the fomo is real in this one.

I get more and more relieved that I skipped the pass and unsubbed. Personally it seems a massive waste of resources for a few days content.

So folks have been asked to pay a large amount of money for 2 half chapters and a time limited event that the buyers better hope they're around for or they're snip outta luck (not even getting into the dungeons and messing about ESO+ subbers). For the elseweyr events the ones of the like, you received the rewards if you owned the chapter and had an achievement. This just seems lousy for those that purchased.
