Unidentified Enchanter Survey Disappears When Opened

I tried opening unidentified enchanter surveys twice and both times the survey just disappeared. Nothing appeared in the slottable inventory.

I play on Xbox.

I've similarly had unidentified writs disappear on opening. Also on XBox. There's something odd going on with this new system.

I wonder if it does not give you one if you do not have the dlc for it. My understanding is when they were given via the reward boxes before the update with the Unopened containers that you only got ones for dlc areas you had. If it is a random roll for all zones now then it would do something like that.

Not sure about surveys but, before the switch to containers, I definitely got treasure maps and writs involving content I didn't own.

Good point. Before you could not sell surveys so getting one you couldn’t do was worthless. I wonder if they forgot to take that into account for surveys and just used the treasure map model. You should at least get one even if you can’t do it now.

I just lost a bangkorai blacksmithing survey map. I open the unidentified blacksmithing node and see what it is, got to the location and no nodes are present. I check and see that the map has vanished. I open the next one and get the greenshade one without issues and complete my daily endeavour.

Similarly to this: I learned a new furnishing plan yesterday that vanished as it should after reading, but without being added to my character. I couldn't craft the plan. Had to buy and learn it a second time.
