Personally i'm not as deep in making builds or competitive builds at all and I tend to follow guids and adjust them slightly or try to go for flavour. I fondered with newer skill lines having some abilities across elements and subclassing allowing us to mix and match, would it give any too mean / unfair advantages or even disadvantages if some abilities from Dark-Magic get some frost damage reworks since it may fit the crystal theme.
As far as I understand it lately the devs look into adjusting the skill line and I wondered how the suggestion of adding a light frost damage subtheme would make it more popular or gives a slight advantage to the line for subclassing and full sorce builds.

The original classes had dk as tank, templar as healer........where these could pass for damage and had access to mroe effects. Then the far more common dps classes NB and Sorc would primarily use phys and mag damage so as not to spam status proc conditions over and over.
Now adays on live this is completely forgotten and we even have status effects on phys and mag damage so just another laggy bloated layer happening.
Subclassing wise winters already fulfills the frost archetype pretty well no real reason to have a 2nd one. Granted now that morphs dont need to be mag vs stam you could open doors like this for sure.
