i too, would like to give Zos money for a house they only have sold twice.

I'm sure they really have plenty of space to put tons of stuff in the crown store, but that removes FOMO, which is a common tactic that companies due to zoom up sales during certain times. I don't forsee them just opening up the bank and letting us purchase anything that's been available in the past at any point.

The sales tactics have only gotten worse over time - more and more expensive bundles, less in-game rewards in favor of more monetization (eg, personalities no longer being in dungeon achievements but rather sold in the store and then now placed in crown crates, skill styles in crown crates).

Not meant as a jab necessarily because it is what it is, but I don't forsee them implementing consumer-friendly tactics in regards to microtransactions. It's been heading in the opposite direction actually. Wish that weren't the case though.

I too wish for this to return as well. There are a few wolf related mounts & pets I haven't gotten yet. This is due to them not being available because I was new to the game when they weren't up grabs or I was on a break. I tried asking as well via ticket & it didn't work either.

Welp, lost my interest in sticking around for now. I had the urge to spend time and money on housing, but without being able to spend that money on an item, you've lost my playtime due to your own silly reasons. Customer service wouldn't budge. See how fomo kills it for you?

If I have money then, but don't feel like playing, I'm not going to buy it. If I have no time to play, but I have money, why would I buy it hoping I'll feel like playing later...? This is how I am too; FOMO really doesn't work for me. Likewise with bad drop rates: if something is THAT much of a nuisance, I totally lose interest in any ideas I had (like you said: dozens of hours I would've spent playing and building – related thread for example: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/677218/solstice-treasure-map-leads-and-lootable-rewards-sources-rng-bugs/p1?new=1) and rather pretend it doesn't exist.

But I assume Crown store decisions are based on ZOS's data... So I also have to assume these tactics do work for a majority of buyers

I also think it's really strange things are sold outside of the timeframes players would most want them. For example, companion Zerith-var has a pet cat that's a ghost. It would've been perfect to sell the ghost cat pet after players get the companion and learn this... but instead it was in the crown store just a few weeks before! xD Really strange timing!

Likewise we have a lot of beach themed items for housing now with Solstice. It'd be a great time to bring back houses like the Argonian-beach-themed Grand Topal Hideaway and even Seaveil Spire, while interest in this theme is high! I hope we will see them in August.

These crown store items aren't locked to anything other than a random once per year release and hold no special value like a community event reward. They'll gain more by keeping them available at all times. But overall, yes, all fomo does is tick people off. As you say, people will be less invested, such as I stated, I have no interest in playing as much when I'm locked out of something I'd otherwise be spending many hours on.

Keep in mind real life exist. What if i had partecipated in the event but was in hospital in the period where you could reedeem the damn ting by clicking a button?
This is literally the only event i've missed in 11 years for unavoidable reasons.

About the crown store items returning the problem will progressively become worse in the future since with new items introduced the pool is becoming bigger and bigger.
We should have a couple of "vouchers" for christmas every year allowing us to purchase past items from the store.

I bought Lakemire Xanmeer Manor house via customer service back in 2020 when it was not generally available. I’ve since switched platforms and submitted a customer service request to move it over but was told they don’t/cant. Personally I think it’s a bad move to turn away customer requests like this. Clearly I like the product.
