Maintenance for the week of April 27:
· [COMPLETE] EU megaservers for maintenance – April 27, 2:00 UTC (April 26, 10:00PM EDT) - April 27, 16:00 UTC (12:00PM EDT)
· [COMPLETE] NA megaservers for maintenance – April 27, 3:00AM EDT (7:00 UTC) - 5:00PM EDT (21:00 UTC)

Deserter penalty is insane.

15 mins was reasonable. Half an hour with no ap gain at all is obsene. Im sick to death of being booted by the servers and then sitting on penalties. This is trash.

Is it really that hard to add a simple check to penalize players who leave intentionally, while skipping the penalty in all other cases?
"We are currently investigating connection issues some players are having on the European megaservers. We will update as new information becomes available."
    — They always claim they’re “investigating” the causes, but in reality they’re just waiting until the PC EU players go to bed. Once that happens, you can suddenly log in again and they happily mark the issue as Fixed.

What would they need to check for, exactly? How would the system be able to tell the difference between someone who logs out and someone who gets booted off the server?

Checking if they are pressing the leave battleground button versus not pressing it followed after a massive ping spike would be a good start.

The problem there is if you make that the only criteria, people can just unplug their routers and fake a loss of connection to get around the penalty.

yep, lag/kill switches are still very real, which means all need to be punished equally. If you're having network problems anyways should be a good time to check all your stuff, reset your router, make sure everything is in order etc anyways so 30 minutes shouldn't be a problem since if something's going on it could reoccur within that timeframe.
