2 Lore Library recommendations

1) In hunting new lore books, the glow is often hard to tell apart from other light sources. A player-friendly fix for this is some sort of bonus (Mythic gear item?) to magnify the glow. A Mora-themed wisdom-seeker bright green fire aura would work well for this. Other tools could potentially indicate if there are nearby unread books.

2) All readable books glow in the Vengeance campaign, and the Lore Library acts like you haven't read anything. This is probably for performance reasons, which leads to a suggestion for an Interface toggle to just keep book glow on perpetually. Until a book is actually read, this would skip a check of which books to highlight and which to not. There would be a lot of player benefits to this in better being able to re-find puzzle instructions, point out books for group members to collect, or stop to read things that may have been quickly dismissed before.

This would be useful, and since it is not combat-related, it would be great as an optional green tree perk. Optional as in, not required for unlocking any other perk, because I assume not all players would want to increase the visual pollution of having everything glowing everywhere.

I think we should be thinking of new optional QoL things to attach to the green champion tree, as more and more players reach max CP, and this could be one of them.

Would be a pretty cool (IMHO) perk for a future companion. Keen eye unread books, to include any random bookshelves that currently contain an unread.

The kicker being that most of their rapport and favor is based around fleshing out the lore library.

Honestly, one of the things I'd really like to see is to just make Eidetic Memory account-wide.

I get it, I'm really one of those people who favors keeping things character-specific, but really. The Eidetic lorebooks (NOT the Shalidor's Library ones) are specifically there for collectors, always have one or more bugged, and honestly take up a lot of space (don't they want to conserve server space, and they're tracking all of these per character?)

The Shalidor ones and the motifs/recipes have perfectly good reason to be character specific. Not the Eidetic ones.

Right, it could be kind of like Zerith's heavy sacks perk. Not sure everyone would want it on all the time though.

Right, I only have a few left to get, and most of those I could finish off by being careful on a different character. I think this is a great idea, especially if it saves server space.

If eligible bookshelves only lit up when passed over by the reticle, it wouldn't be an issue I would think. At least then you wouldn't have to worry about every bookshelf around a new character glowing like the Vegas strip.

I suspect the book is randomly chosen when you "read" from the bookshelf though.

Bookshelves randomize, but not every time you enter the cell. I think it’s at the daily reset. Otherwise, they are the same for everyone.

I remember one time when one of my friends was collecting lorebooks that he managed a rare bookshelf-only one in the IC and we all then went in to get that book since we could guarantee the same instance.

Ah, okay. Is that how containers work as well?

I'd like to see this, too. Right now the task is so daunting that I don't even try. If I could just have to do it on my main character I'd be much more motivated to work on it.

Bookshelves reset when the zone itself completely resets. Permanent zones (ie.. Deshaan, Solstice, Craglorn, etc) they reset when the servers reset for maintenance. Instanced/non-permanent zones (IA, Dungeons, Skyreach, etc) reset whenever the instance resets. So you can farm IA every time you reset the instance (15 mins after leaving?). But the library in Belkarth you have to wait until the next server reset which typically happens every week or two for maintenance (from what was passed down to me anyway).

Containers are different in that they are instanced to the player, not the world. So you can reset containers by just zoning out and back in. Popular method for farming containers is to loot them all, preview a house you don't own, leave the house, and arrive right back where you started to do it all over again.

The best ones are the "book" clutters that randomly glow in some delve, etc. If ya cant interact with it, dont make it glow!

Have the last mages perk give us a book scrying tool like the cartoklep map for scriveners dungeon. But plz make it a toggle being stuck in animations all the time is Not Fun.
