No longer able to front-load daily crafting missions

Khajiit had taken but not performed the daily crafting missions on a few of his characters 2 days ago. Today he got to doing them, but lo and behold they all counted as today's dailies, except, ironically, the Alchemy quest, which was able to be retaken.
Was this change announced and khajiit missed it? Or was this just another QoL "improvement"?

If your quest from a few days ago matched what you would have gotten today, this is how it always works. Game has no idea when you took a quest. But if today's quest is "2 Bows and a Shield" and you turned in a "2 Bows and a Shield" quest, you completed today's daily, regardless of whether you first took it a few seconds ago, a few days ago, or a few years ago.5 -
