Why do you think the ESO dev discussion happened on Reddit and not here (WRONG ANSWERS ONLY)

I am pretty sure that they already know what the forum thinks about them...

IMO gaming companies have their game discussions on off-site platforms because they want a controlled safe space where they won't get hit with the worst of the feedback from the dedicated players who actually play the game. Bungie devs basically did the same thing with Destiny - they had their own forums, but feedback from their forums was often ignored in favor of feedback from sites like Reddit.

I also think that some of this could be due to bias towards incorporating advice from streamers and their followers vs. the average gamer.

Because they hoped their community read it.

Why is there an official forum for ESO then?

Because they didn't want to accidentally violate their own TOS and get auto banned by the AI.
I have a login on both the ESO forum and the ESO Reddit so I'm fine with developer discussions happening on either one.

Separately, I have seen players who have been banned from the ESO forum who are still posting on the ESO Reddit.

I was just making a pun. At least, where I'm from, read is pronounced like red when it's past tense. So read it, Reddit would be pronounced the same. Obviously, I'm bad at this. LOL

Shame that it did even though this is a parody thread. I deleted my Reddit account due to all the extremism that goes unchecked on that platform and how they only want to allow one side of people to speak, a majority of subreddits are moderated by people under a specific political party and do not allow differing opinions even when it's not about politics.

Ya, Reddit is the worst. It's nonsensical that ZOS would hold a discussion there as opposed to here on this forum. They could have made it work here if they wanted it to. But no, it was on a social media platform that many of us will never participate on under any circumstances.

Back quite a few years ago when another dev was preparing to release a new game, they had livestreams where I was able to watch right from my PS4 without any special apps or anything. You might have needed a twitch account to comment or something, I don’t have that so I can’t say. There was text scrolling down the side of the screen. I don’t know how they did it, but it was a nice feature. I could just search for the event in the schedule and click on it. The game was only coming out on one platform so it might have been easier to set up, I don’t know if it would be more complicated for multiple platforms like ESO.

If I have to log into a computer to watch then it just won’t happen. I don’t have a Reddit account either. I have no idea how a discussion works on that site, I just follow searches to a certain page. I don’t really use that site much but I don’t have any problem with it. I am probably ignorant of anything that might be going on there.

I’m not disappointed that I missed this discussion. I think it would just frustrate me even more about the state of the game. If they aren’t going to listen to skinnycheeks they won’t listen to me.

Reddit is set up for a live discussion called AMA and ESO forums are not.

Oops, we wanted the wrong answers here. Sorry.
