Inb4 we get "shouts", a skill line dedicated exclusively to ultimates, customizable in a similar way to scribing. Each word has a different effect, slap 3 together for the full ultimate.

Could very well be the next "grind of the year".

I would like to see Undaunted get an Ult but I do NOT want it to be a Shout. You're not a Dragonborn, you're the Vestige. You want to shout, go play the only Elder Scrolls game to have it.

Name: Undaunted Shout
Cost: 500 Ultimate
Target: Area
Range: 50m
Effect: When cast in combat, all combat ceases for 30 seconds every 3 minutes, as you and your group feel compelled to sing the Undaunted song draining your stamina and magicka for 200 per second. Banging your head against a wall will cause this effect to end.

Warhorn or Barrier should be the Undaunted Ultimate because they're used more in PvE. They would be replaced in their original skill line with a more PvP-focused ult (like an anti-ball group ult?).

The issue is that all current Undaunted Skills have a synergy, so they might feel they need to add one to make it fit. But really, it's a fairly dungeon/trial–focused skill line, so the ult should match that, whether it has a synergy or not.

It would be interesting to have the first Ultimate Grimoire to be on the Undaunted line.

Tbh you don't have to be Dragonborn to learn shouts. It just takes a lot, lot more time, AKA the perfect type of grind ESO likes to impose.

My burly, greatsword-wielding Nords aren't specially gifted mages either, and yet here they are, slotting Psijic spells. From a secretive guild that's supposed to only allow the most adept of mages in. Not even the naturally-gifted Altmer can just apply. It's that special.

I'm not advocating FOR it, mind you. I'm just stating ESO has tossed the Lore out of the window many, many years ago. What's one more absurd step?

The only ones who would have knowledge of shouting are the Dragons and the Greybeards. I can see maybe the Undaunted discovering a shout while dungeon delving, but they would absolutely just pass it over to the Mages Guild for study. Maybe a song ultimate where it's bardic magic would be a better idea than specifically shouting. Especially when you think about morphing it, like mastering one shout and then changing it into two different versions would require some intense level of knowledge and know-how.

I thought the exact thing after reading OP's post. Perhaps more restricted than normal scribed abilities obviously, but it would be a good opportunity to finally give them an ult with some support aspects. Was always weird that Undaunted should be the only combat skill line without an ultimate.

Ulfric Stormcloak wanted to hang with Elisif the Fair and shouted High King Torygg out of his throne for one-night love

I'd be in favor of moving War Horn to be the Undaunted Ulti and maybe tweak it so that the crit damage done is an un-named bonus so it can stack with Monomyth. The ulti has little use really since there are now multiple ways to get the Major Force bonus, including the Monomyth, which grants the bonus with 100% uptime.

War Horn can go to Undaunted, and the Assault Tree ulti can be replaced with something new like:

1. War drums: increases the damage players do by 50% for 10 seconds when using siege - works against walls and players;
2. Cavalry Charge - you and your group receive ___% increased run speed and take 25% less damage for 10 seconds.
3. Grappling hook (ult cost 500): heave a grappling hook on the wall that allows you and 3 other group members to repel up a keep wall. All members who enter a keep using grapple have their ulti's drained to zero.

That's not true necessarily. The knowledge of dragonshouts used to be much more common among Nords, which we can tell from how many Draugr in Skyrim know to use them, and how Nord sieges are described in Morrowind and Oblivion - Tongues gather and shout-in the city gate. The only thing that changed is Jurgen Windcaller founding the Way of the Voice, stated to be the most powerful tradition Thu'um. But that makes the Greybeards and their pacifism the most powerful tongues, not the only tongues.
I think it would be fine to have an ultimate-only skill line with dragonshouts, associated to another painful grind just to give any build access to 2 shouts max at any given moment. I feel that's somewhat in line with how many shouts Ulfric has learned. Especially once we consider vampirism or the longer lifespan of elves (assuming elves can canonically even learn the Thu'um without also being dragonborn), the argument that learning the Thu'um takes too long to learn isn't that convincing in my opinion. The Psijics and their Timestop/Time rewind are way crazier to give us access to. All I'd want is for the Thu'um to be respected as something special, and not your next spammable in your rotation. Ultimates do a good job there I think. That said, I feel just being the Undaunted ultimate, would be a disservice to the Thu'um.
