Have been trying for the last 4 days to get Stone Shank Frame Lead in Glenumbra.
Have checked if I should have it, and have mined close to 10,000 ore and still no lead.
Everything in Blacksmith is max
Is it normal for it to be so hard to get?
Has it been just as hard to get for you?
Or am I doing something wrong
I have to admit that after 4 days of intense mining, I'm about to give up, because I've started to doubt whether it even exists, or if my account is bugged hehe :;)

Anecdotal but I've found that coffer and harvest node leads seem to have shifting drop rates based on wether you have dug up other leads for the same antiquity.1 -

They were pretty easy, but this one, omg it's hard0 -
Tobyja✭✭✭✭✭RNG is a time related thing in this game. If you are in a good spot, you can do whatever activity you want, you get special loot from everywhere, over and over. If not, you can sit at your monitor like a bared teeth displaying hulk, try to farm something for hours and hours, hundreds of times, the 'mistress' is just sneering.
Oh, and if you are in a good spot, don't relog and change char, that will break it.
That are the most common mistakes, people make. I know, it may be not helpfull directly, but be patient and try it out. Do different things, 'play the game', as ZOS once stated, and in the moment, you get special, rare loot from somewhere, don't relog and go after your desire. Good luck.
Edit: oh, and just to confirm that the Stone Shank Frame Lead is (still) dropping, from today (PC EU, german version):
