Sorry, it was troubles with my provider. Strange enough it only effected eso and X but nothing else. Anyway, it's resolved. Up for 18 hours maintanance.

The scheduled 18-hour maintenance (which may or may not take that long) is hardware maintence, not the usual software maintenance. Hardware maintenance is much more rare and is done to improve the servers themselves, so it's a good thing and not a bad thing.

hardware backend complicated maintenance which is very technical makes no difference to me than normal maintenance, the answer is always the same as update days, maintenance days front end or backend

    c2k5dkocgcaz.png

18 hours down time is 18 hours on everyones timepieces

either way we are on the doorstep still

    mn5kyefvfrgj.png

and just like my legs as i get older they need longer and longer downtime

i am sure one of the backend things was listed at 12 hours last time and laster over 18 anyway, excuse me....was extended 6 hours

but my primetime is off peak so it effects me a little more i guess

They did one not so long ago so it’s not rare at all these days

just over 2 months maybe for this very technical one ? anyway i said to a guild that devs want us to have the occasional early night to bed and a good hard days work next day without eso on our minds.
and is still good for me no ? it falls same day my go to single player game gets new dlc and update ^^
i mean give me 18 hours on my go to single player uniterrupted without the thought of logging to eso for some reason and am i going to make it back to log in again for another few months ? it's a coin toss again at the moment !

Never played a single game in my life that has as much downtime as ESO, it's beyond a joke now...

i dont think single player games have downtime buddy, well atleast none that i play. the point was the distraction away from eso to a loved sigle player game usually has the effect of pulling me totally away from eso for periods of time and 18 hours is more than enough. i guess a game like conan in offline mode still needs the new but thats about as close as it comes i think but my go-to single player is just a single player. but i am on the verge of 4000 hours in the latest single player for me at the moment and the new dlc and udate going to make me start a new playthrough...goodness knows if i can log into eso after i get started ! i dont even have that playtime clocked in the exiled lands online or offline

my offline game at the moment

    eso

    lygxq3zecc9y.png

    exiled lands

    at7x92iowkdt.png

except that single player is just one of the actual series of games, so hours are less than i played in whole series

then theres other games to dabble in

i am also an RTS fan

not such a big fan of the eso community however i have met some really genuinely nice people in-game from time to time over the years. if was not for those few of them left playing no way in hell i would still be playing eso

I'm afraid of this maintenance. The last time they did a similar maintenance... the result was worse.

I just tried to launch the game to pick the daily rewards and play a while and found out that the game will be down for maintenance for 18 hours. Is this correct? What happened?

When a maintenance is this long, they should automatically credit ALL players on the server with the daily rewards from the last day of the month...

I wish they would give us a head's up on the previous day if possible. I hate these surprises when I go to play. And yes, I do realize sometimes there is no better option.

It was announced in the 'blurb' on the forums on Sunday I think ... still: a large part of the playerbase doesn't check there every day ...

It was announced in the forums this past Friday, September 5.

But, as you said, a large part of the playerbase doesn't check here every day.

i'll tell you for sure that the quality of gorilla glue is just not what it used to be, after 16 hours of fixing less than 24 hours to all come apart again

That would be nice. But no, we're supposed to anticipate a 16 hour maintenance making the servers inaccessible - and make sure to log in during the other few hours regardless of pesky responsibilities such as jobs, real life stuff, needed sleep , etc.

16+ hours downtime + 8+ hours unplayable time equals 24 hours, i knew it

Actually, it's 18 hours + 8 hours which is 26 hours in total.
Unless you're using the Server clock which has trouble keeping time due to lag.
