How do new players cope with subclassing ?

I play all 7 classes as many of us veterans do, generally speaking. Now I know zos want to attract new players to the game but imagine starting out now as a new player and having to level more that one character to 50 with skill lines levelled to 50 in order to be able to then subclass with those skill lines.
I've been in many guilds and new players usually want to get to level 50 asap and more often than not beg guild mates to help them level up faster in BRP or craglorn. For them to then have to level more characters to level 50 in order to build a character they want to play via the subclassing system and or if they want to raid and are expected to subclass...how on earth is all that work not going to put off the new players from thecwhole subclassing system?..
I've been working on levelling all my skill lines on all my classes and even with xp scrolls and doing master writs to boost xp and running public dungeons cos lots of mobs to kill and a skill point...I still get burnout..takes a lot of effort and time to level these skill lines and each skill costs us 2 skill points. That is a lot of work to ask from a new player when most want to jump in and have fun.

I hope the devs read this. I dont mind grinding so much as I have patience cos I'm old lol but so many players hate the grind of levelling.

There’s the idea, and then there’s the reality.

The idea, of course, is that fully-levelling Subclassing is supposed to be a long-term project. The devs intend (and said so in the reveal article) that players will level it naturally over time and maybe only focus on the lines they found interesting.

The reality, as we know, is grindgrindgrindgrindgrind. And while that is partly an “impatient player” issue, I’ll also fling some blame at the game itself for being so unbalanced insofar as any Subclassed setup is exceptionally more powerful than any pureclass build.

I know any new players I’ve talked with, I give the suggestion of “please take your time and don’t grind,” especially considering grinding to 50 without doing quests or zone stuff will leave you with too few skill points to fill out your skills in the first place. But I realize that anyone coming into ESO who wants to go into endgame PvE or PvP probably don’t care much about the stories (and the quality has been going down since Summerset…) and just want to get to endgame.

Not much has changed pre veteran content, to start into that well you want 900-1500 CP for the passives. Pure classes do fine in all content pre-hardmode. If a player wants to rush, they will rush. If a player wants a carry, they will hop in someones backpack. The skill points are quite a grind, even for me as a long term player. I tended to not get all the points or go for completioninst on my dozens of characters. They did add the new green CP, but that requires leveling still.

I think it just comes down to natural progression, rushing to be end game isn't for all. I ended up taking a year off for other games if not longer when I hit 800. I'd just encourage your friends to take it slower and enjoy the game, get their skill up with basics like blocking, roll dodging, and such.

They don't need to. This is not a requirement to subclass.

fwiw i have a new account with one toon and i am cp 400 ish and am leveling up a subclass skill on it which is now level 43. soon that skill will be level 50. One need not level up multiple toons in order to subclass BUT if you do have one of every class and all those skills are level 50 then when you subclass you get them at the full level 50 skill. having only one toon i had to level up my subclassed skill and it is more expensive 2 skill points for every benny, rather than 1.
