Subclassing Quest Bugged?

I straight up deleted the characters this is stuck on except for the one that is at level 50 with a ton of skill points. I'd really rather not have to delete him and start over. Just let us abandon the quest and try it again. The quest can not be abandoned, make it abandonable.

This is indeed the fix.
Gamepad UI does NOT show this accurately, I swapped to keyboard UI and followed the "Subclass" ribbon /arrow marker, instantly the quest completed when i pressed r to confirm.

@ZOS_Kevin Thank god I had not maxed all my skill lines. sadly I won't get the 20k gold in respec's to attempt to remedy this totally game breaking bug (a minor game break, but a break none the less)

Sooo... have we just given up on this bug?

There has been ZERO followup other than a "We already patched it" blurb on page one of this thread. And t yet this bug still exists.

I now have less skill lines left to subclass than I have characters with this ucompletable quest. I'm playng on PS5, and regardless whether I choose a skill line that hasn't been subclassed yet, or one already finished, nothing closes the quest. None of my characters can advance past the "Subclass a New Skill Line" step of the quest. And it still cannot be abandoned.

@ZOS_Kevin can we please get word on the current status of this? Something, Anything?

For real. If we really can't just allow the quest to be abandoned like a normal quest... maybe y'all could just like... add a dialogue option to the quest where you say "Thanks for all the cool info, I don't want to subclass right now" and the quest completes and all is right with the world again?

After a day of back and forth with CS, sending them everything they asked for. Now they are telling me to delete entire game and download it again over this. I sent a reply back asking why this has yet to be mentioned anywhere- in particular this thread. Seems kind of like a shot in the dark solution to a problem they have no idea how to fix at this time. I'm waiting for their reply, as I don't see this doing anything except me going through a hassle to get same results.

From what I have seen elsewhere… An old customer support trick to get the customer to go do something and maybe not return. Probably not intentional, but no doubt as to the potential outcome. It is one of those “Hail Mary” things way down at the bottom of the response tree. As a customer, when I hear one of these things, I know that I won’t be getting any help from them.

I'm beginning to suspect that the devs did the coding equivelant of painting themselves into a corner with subclassing and this quest. And have no idea how to fix it without making a mess walking across the wet paint.

Nope. Tried it and it doesn't work. I'm stuck on multiple characters having to pay every time to change anything. Since this obviously isn't going to be fixed I'm going to just delete all of those characters and I won't be recreating them. I've been spending too much time playing anyway so getting rid of a handful of my characters will solve that issue for me.

Even if you complete the quest, you still have to pay gold to swap out skill lines. It's 1500g a pop regardless.

I'm as annoyed as the next person that I can't close the quest. But realistically, it's just the annoyance of having an unclosed quest in my tracker that I can't get rid of.

It is an "annoyance" until they start to create similar quests to keep it company.

So, an account where all chars have their class lines at max level can't complete the quest.
Any ETA regarding a fix @ZOS_Kevin ?

nvm i figured it out. i was using a controller and the UI did not show nearly enough
i have to use akeyboard to see the ui with the steps to complete it

this needs to get sorted out
