Semi-on topic, but Kevin or Jessica, do you happen to have a high-resolution photo of the image used in the latest See ESO’s Leadership Team Talk Tamriel at gamescom 2025 announcement on the website? It goes hard.

[…]we do have some additional things lined up over the next few months, including an AMA (probably in early September).

A new AMA before we get the results of the Cyrodiil one?

In my opinion, you need to announce something big, medium or long term, otherwise, people would think this game is on managed decline.

Stop talking rhetoric, or vague statements, like in corporate announcements. Better say nothing than "we want the best for ESO".

For example, a key indicator of how things might go, is how much new talent are you going to hire, how many new people. Because all we have heard so far is there are a number of teams in firefighter mode, and the management was prioritizing people from one fire to the next. Some features or zones that were added recently have the potential, but it was obvious some effort was cut at some point.

A second indicator for me would be how much are you willing to engage with the community in terms of considering the feedback, and be willing to listen more to the community. Until now, devs were quite opaque to what they want to do, and why they don't implement or add certain things.

I want to see a new vision. Right now, the big studios that really shine, are those who are close in touch with their communities.

I hate to be that guy but this sounded like it was all written and edited by a PR person. Like it came from a politician. It's really cool to hear that these people are gamers like us, been into ESO and mmorpgs for a long time. I liked hearing the story from, I believe Nick, about a pug run in vMHK. Cool. But the part about the direction of the game was all empty platitudes. Communication, listening to players, taking feedback and making the community feel heard. It feels like I've read those lines before and not just in this game.

I'm sure Kevin with his plus 20 to speech craft will pop in and assure us that more info is on the way. And to be fair, these guys just started. They deserve a shot from the community, they deserve time to lay it out for us. I said the other day that idk if these changes will be good or bad for us but I'd like to find out. I also think though, for all the talk of a 30 year game, looking too far into the future can make it so you can't see what's happening today. Let's hope they can do both.

It has been a little while now that I suspect IA to write things. It is more obvious on some post like the one from the dev about the infinite archive. The very fisrt tip was to not be tempted to pick offernsive visions for the couple fisrt ark. The reality is to get to ark 4-5++ without offensive visions takes over 2-3 hours....and at this point if you dont get quickly the offencive visions it become tidious..only a machine would not mind lol.
Considering also there no pause possibilities!!!! All good for a machine.

Then the new colors they put out with new ennemies setting out new AoEs because they wanted to make the IA more immersive...lol Who really have the time to see that, we are already enough with the stuff that want to kill us....

Of all the post about it, I never saw a statement ''we want it to be more immersive or the color are bleuh''...but a lot on the anticompetitive visions like full coffin or lessons learn and the useless dps visions like powerfull domain (3% more damage on AoE) that dont really help facing mobs with a exponentialy croissant health....when they have over 1M health each...Even with tripple (300%) base damage, it wont make a difference.

Then the vision focus effort that was nerf and again seems to be an idiotic ignorant fools decision. The infinite archive experience is base on the focus effort, wihtout it to get to ark 9 it takes 15h+.... It was spawning in the 3 categories for a reason!!

Furthermore, like mention no possibilities to pause the run...Why!? How can the devs expect one to go in there and get as far as his knowledge and abilities will take him, knowing he will have to abandon since most people cant play that like this for 5-10-20 hours or even days to get to ark 40+. It just create personel life problem, after running the place for 4-5+ hours, no one want to abandon, but has to. Infinite frustrations here! These choices from the devs are not from a human mind (if they do, we should sit those devs on the electric chair).

Then same song about the tails of tribute thing (ToT), the score computation that penalise the player from playing, creating behavior like camaping position and open the way to those shity humans unsatified that only trive from making others suffer just for theyr amusement. Leaving players with porality facing them all the time and get frustrated from having theyr prestige point emptied and theyr deck filled by players that care none for the win. Espacialy that the Raihjin deck cant win a match sionce he has no power means. coinsequence those immoral player just hold the opponent until the victim abandon with the penalities, and he has no other choices!! it takes about 3 wins for 1 defeat....

Someone that played 600 matches, 400 wins and 200 defeats can be ranked 2nd the last day and ply 5 matches to drop to 200, with no comeback possibilities. While another one could have been ranked for first time the last day and only play 4 matches, half and half win/lost and will be ranked 80.

A competition is not to let chances to casual player, its a competiton!! As well as a burst type game cannot be consider as a 30 days competition....All this disadvantage and penalise those that likes to play the game and compete. forcing them to camp, or not play, leaving more space for the immoral human making some more disliking ToT.

I could go on all day on all the content that has been brought since Microsoft bought the franchise. It already killed the inner community, those that were living in the game, and filled it with toxicity, greeds and frustrations. What about the pricing wich his 10 000% higher than the basic cost!! Result of an abuse of the flaw buy using they own currencies, the crowns. If they would ask for real money for the crownstore items, the pricing would be illegal.

I stop here, this is not a topic for complaining, but if those devs are really serious about the game and theyr devotion, hear us out here!!

We'll see what they do. The gameplay has become tedious and the current direction feels a bit boring and flavorless. Leadership's been so disconnected for so long, if there's a reversal of policies and genuine outreach, it'll be nice to see. It feels like a simple fix...time will tell.

    Checked ESOReddit...typed subclass. :#B)

Well I hope the new team does something more substantial than recent updates. I’m a PVP player and since the introduction of subclassing the game has been ruined for me I’ve found myself moving further away from the game, would like some clear direction on how they intend if they do at all to support pure class builds.

If you actually want input: next time deliver facts about the upcoming plans (e.g. an actual roadmap) for the game first and add irrelevant personal details at a later point.

Things change all the time. Creating roadmaps Pigeonhole's developers into promises the community expects them to keep, and if they don't deliver, or alter what was initially "promised" on those maps they'll receive backlash for it.

I think this is a bald statement. It is irrelevant to justify a nonaction with arbitrary presumptions.

To state the community would react that way is summary and inaccurate.

It shows the misunderstanding of what it is about here, what is the meaning of most messages.

I think it is of public knowledge that a roadmap will change; not might or perhaps, it will have some changes, and it is not the trigger to the dissatisfaction. It is the lack of transparency in the communication and the form "PR" used to deliver it. I called it the "puff-talk" because it was use a lot to smoke the air "puff puff powder" so it looks good.

It needs a more personal approach and not necessarily answering every post, but making a list of all the points mentioned in every post and replying to all topics regrouped with some quotes so the people don't have to scroll the entire list and can refer to the quotes.

When a changes or the knowledge of a futur changes on the roadmap, be prompt to notify it to the community.

Even if the community has a window to post comments like here, it does not feel like anyone is heard by the right people. I mean, it is mostly the community replying to the community comments, in most cases without making a point.

Therefore, it can only indulge distrust and the unpleasant feeling of not being listened to, changes that will affect the everyday lives of each player in the community.

Furthermore, communities that have already opened the wallet for years.

Having Rich elevated clearly sends a message to the community...but what can we do other than hope (pray) he'll have little to no input on the actual gameplay or inner workings of the game.
Rich Lambert - In case you're wondering—no, I'm not leaving, and this is not a goodbye! I will continue to be around, but my role is changing. I’m moving up a level into more of a studio role (Studio Game Director),

OK it's nice to hear from the new-ish senior leadership team. It did feel a little vague though.

But fine, it's probably too early for a revised roadmap.

I have to say that having - sort of - recently returned to the game after a few years, it's starting to feel old now.

In the positive - ESO remains an incredibly playable fun game with some great stories, characters and art direction.

But back to the finger wagging now.

A substantial engine upgrade is obviously needed. The menu UI has become more than a little complicated. Combat seems to be mostly mashing the same 2-3 abilities and the correct light attack weaving, with the right gear and spec being crucial.

And the 'save the world from another Daedric Prince/Artefact' in (nearly) every single DLC story is getting a little tiring.

Even if the stories are well written and acted - and they are - it is just feeling samey.

So I'd like to see ESO's Tamriel being a place where you can just adventure in, and uncover epic 'local' stories to each zone. A little more like D&D.

Hopefully that is what is meant by various people in the roundtable discussion mentioning a few times about how they want players to 'live' in Tamriel.

And yes, that would mean a huge clean up of the classic / vanilla zones and - finally! - and end to the three banners war playing out constantly in the classic zones.

Here's hoping that the forthcoming TES VI game - hopefully appearing sometime this decade... - sees ESO get renewed investment... And less world saving.

It’s crazy to me how their vision doesn’t include actually listening, acknowledging feedback, and acting on it.

No businesses run this way and we are literally spoon feeding you what we want to see. Like - companies pay thousands if not millions for these kinds of insights yet you choose to ignore them and cherry pick the inconsequential and silly remarks to respond to. Start listening.
