I get stressed when a game player becomes an employee of power. My concern is that the game will go in the direction that suites that player and his guild / friends. Then there will be lots of guild and group content and nothing for those who run solo.

While I have concerns, this seems a bit of an overreaction. Let's let the man start his job before we start conspiracy theories.

Conspiracy theory? I was expressing a concern. A concern based on past experiences.

Not wanting to discount your experience but I did take 4 year break so maybe I'm not up on all I missed. When did ESO promote a player that took the game in the direction that his guild wants and make only group content? This sounds like your worried about the boogyman. This game has gotten the same amount of group content for years. 4 dungeons and a trial. The pve community seems pretty happy with that, I wish there was 2 trials but it is what it is. The game thrives when it includes many play styles.

Did I say ESO did this? I did not. It was another game. I stopped playing that game because it became too heavy with group play. This year, the events and endeavors are group leaning already. So my concerns are seated by my experience.

Well, let's hope they continue as they have been, with a mix of everything, content wise. I think many players engage with more then 1 aspect of the community.

@shadoza, I don’t think it said he was just a game player who got hired by ZOS to work on the game. As someone else said, they probably meant that he is not just a dev, he has also been very active for years as an actual player of the game.

Yeah. But neglecting parts of the game is much worse for those players that do focus on only one aspect. SWTOR went through a phase of biennial leadership changes, each concentrating exclusively on something else. Raiders, pvpers, soloists, story players, build theorists, one after the other left, and to compensate for the loss of player mentoring, each aspect was "streamlined" to make it more "accessible" for the remaining players.

On the other hand, being in the same position for too long leads to stagnation, can't teach an old dog new tricks.

@ZOS_Kevin are Nick and the team a little bit more open for the topic crossplay / cross platform ? It´s one of the most needed changes of the game and something a lot of people from the community would like to be adressed and being worked on finally.

Going to avoid speaking for Nick and the rest of leadership in this instance. They should have the opportunity to answer the question of crossplay themselves when they have an opportunity to speak with the player base. However, we should note, Rich was on a podcast earlier in the year, noting that the team is interested in crossplay. The hang-ups are investigating what would be impacted by implementing crossplay and the time to scope out appropriate fixes for those impacts. But it was something on the table for investigation. Both Rich and Matt talked about that.

I was playing SWTOR at that time, if we're talking about maybe 2014. That's when I left mostly and soon after came here. While it's my opinion that the amount of content overall has declined noticably, they are still touching the major player bases. We got a raid and 4 dungeons this year. We got a new zone with story. We got new homes and furniture to hunt.

I feel you though. I remember playing SWTOR and watching my guild vanish. My raid team vanish. My friends leave. The forums took a turn down. I really loved the game but it really felt bad at that time. I'm happy it's still going and if I had a decent PC I might jump in again. I would hate to see that happen here. They keep saying this is a year of transition. So I'm overlooking the constant reuse of assets. The raid filled with not reskins but actual dungeon bosses lol. The very short part 1 for solstice and the sparse side quests. I think I'm the end we'll be ok. This game will keep in. Hopefully the announcements @ZOS_Kevin keeps saying are in the works come soon. I will keep the faith.

I had no idea they talked about that. Was this an official podcast?

I think there's value in circling these comments back to the forums or somewhere official. You've said in the past the forums can't be news round up. There's value in changing that approach, given how much information and insight happens outside of here, and relates to many of the topics and concerns expressed here.

In any case, that's exciting. Looking forward to hearing more, thanks for sharing.
