While I have concerns, this seems a bit of an overreaction. Let's let the man start his job before we start conspiracy theories.
Conspiracy theory? I was expressing a concern. A concern based on past experiences.
Not wanting to discount your experience but I did take 4 year break so maybe I'm not up on all I missed. When did ESO promote a player that took the game in the direction that his guild wants and make only group content? This sounds like your worried about the boogyman. This game has gotten the same amount of group content for years. 4 dungeons and a trial. The pve community seems pretty happy with that, I wish there was 2 trials but it is what it is. The game thrives when it includes many play styles.

Did I say ESO did this? I did not. It was another game. I stopped playing that game because it became too heavy with group play. This year, the events and endeavors are group leaning already. So my concerns are seated by my experience.

Yeah. But neglecting parts of the game is much worse for those players that do focus on only one aspect. SWTOR went through a phase of biennial leadership changes, each concentrating exclusively on something else. Raiders, pvpers, soloists, story players, build theorists, one after the other left, and to compensate for the loss of player mentoring, each aspect was "streamlined" to make it more "accessible" for the remaining players.
On the other hand, being in the same position for too long leads to stagnation, can't teach an old dog new tricks.

Going to avoid speaking for Nick and the rest of leadership in this instance. They should have the opportunity to answer the question of crossplay themselves when they have an opportunity to speak with the player base. However, we should note, Rich was on a podcast earlier in the year, noting that the team is interested in crossplay. The hang-ups are investigating what would be impacted by implementing crossplay and the time to scope out appropriate fixes for those impacts. But it was something on the table for investigation. Both Rich and Matt talked about that.

I had no idea they talked about that. Was this an official podcast?
I think there's value in circling these comments back to the forums or somewhere official. You've said in the past the forums can't be news round up. There's value in changing that approach, given how much information and insight happens outside of here, and relates to many of the topics and concerns expressed here.
In any case, that's exciting. Looking forward to hearing more, thanks for sharing.
