This is a issue since the Necrom DLC came out and the class still has the same bug, Many people from forum, ingame chat, guild & reddit complains about the same thing. Attacks, primarily Rune Blades, tends to get stuck, almost like its lagging and the server needs to catch up before it registers, making the attack seem unnatural and breaks immersion. The thing is this issue hasn't been replicated with any other classes, its isolated just to the Arcanist Class. I tested various other mmos, swtor, eve online, elite dangerous, ghost recon breakpoint & even Fallout 76 & none of them has the same issues with animations etc so that rules out my network. Especially if its isolated to just one class

    I can confirm it’s not just Arc, although I’m sure it’s happening to you regularly.

    I’m seeing the same thing with Sorc abilities too … Mages Wrath & Streak will “lag” to activate; like the system is taking “extra time” to think about whether or not it wants to trigger.

    The really sad part is the game uses an input stack and these sorts of clumsy, clunky animations end up seeing oak yet abilities triggered at the wrong moment from when they intended to, badly affecting combat.

    There have been a lot of updates to the game over the years and IMO it’s time the Devs refined many of the animations to make the combat flow more smoothly. A lot of class abilities like those within Templar & Night Blade execute very quick and smoothly on a consistent basis but many others are woeful and that laggy animation aspect alone really makes them non competitive in environments like PvP.

    Yeah, it seems the caster classes are left behind in favor of the melee classes. Kinda disappointing, if its not for this bug, the arcanist would be more enjoyable. I think paid classes needs the attention it deserves

    They VERY much were. It’s no wonder the metas revolve around stam builds and skill lines like dual wield. Instant cast abilities and quick response executions give them a clear advantage.

    I maybe could understand if caster class absolutes dealt significantly more damage than melee builds but that’s not the case; the damage is equal so we’re just lagging behind.

    Yeah, The Arcanist is in desperate need of bug fixes
