Error 201 anyone?

    Yup, the same error. Pity. Today I wanna finish my scribing chain Q in Wing of the Crown. Kinda had a bad day at work, and this is not helpful. Screw daily login rewards, instant researches are terrible, tooo many of them there.

    Maintenances have been getting progressively longer, downtimes seem to be more frequent as well for whatever reason.

    Love this game but it's level of service, stability and uptime has definitely deteriorated noticeably over the last few years. Gotta think it's related to staffing issues and\or personnel.

    Truly masterful work, ZOS. After an entire day of "maintenance," the game now does less than before. We used to at least be able to attempt a login. Now we just get stuck staring at a loading spinner like it’s a feature.

    I assume the maintenance goal was to lower server load by preventing players from logging in entirely. If so, flawless execution. Keep up the good work.

    ESO's server issues are better than all the MMOs I've played in my life, and I've played at least 10 or more. Still it doesn't change the fact that the down time sucks, I really wanted to play ):

    Really? I've probably had just as bad issues with WoW, but in Guild Wars 2 i barely had server issues AND they do maintenance without taking the servers offline!

    It would be very considerate to let the playerbase know this issue is going to take hours to solve. Many of us have been waiting for the servers to come back on a Monday, with most of us having very limited time to game. Had I known it was going to take this long, I'd just play another game rather than waiting here.

    it's unexpected because post-maintenance game was running fine, only started having issues within last hour or so... now I wish I didn't get auto-logged off due to being AFK...

    Yeah this is your periodic reminder that Guild Wars 2 essentially NEVER goes offline. last time was in 2020 I *think*.

    I wouldn't mind if there wasn't an event on currently going to lose todays event tickets because of maintenance & the broken login system :(

    PC NA, and same issue here. Was logged out due to inactivity (makin some lunch) and when I tried to log back in, got the unending loading circle. Cancelled the login and tried again, now get instant Error 201 on two different accounts.

    It's maintenance day. It's never "unexpected".

    normally if there's issues then maintenance would be extended. I don't recall the last time I had trouble logging in once maintenance was concluded, AKA now. I was in the game right after maintenance ended until a while ago when i got logged out for being AFK due to eating lunch (really they need to buff the AFK timer to 30 mins like most mmos out there as well...)

    I do hope they'll fix this thing so I could at least log in for a second to grab that daily reward.

    But it they won't, it will be the very first time without logging in since I've started playing in late May this year.

    very tiresome. i couldn't log in this morning b/c maintenance had already started by the time i woke up, and i can't log in now. argh!

    PCNA - same issue, 201 error at login. ALso, a purchase of Crowns failed to update, so I logged out to give the system time to catch up. Bad idea.. can't get back in. Purchase shows in my account, but not in-game. A clue! @sixlalas

    I’d like to report that I am still unable to connect to the service, even today, August 4th, 2025, following the recent maintenance. A lot of my guild members have the same issue.

    This is not an isolated incident — connection issues have occurred repeatedly on the following dates:

    June 28, 2025

    July 10, 2025 (entire night following maintenance)

    July 15, 2025

    July 17, 2025

    July 19, 2025

    July 24, 2025

    August 4, 2025 (post-maintenance, currently)

    These repeated outages are becoming increasingly frequent and disruptive.

    For users residing in Europe, it’s important to note that we are protected under Articles L224-25-1 and following of the French Consumer Code, as well as the European Directive 2019/770 on digital content and services. These laws require that digital services be accessible and conform to the contract under normal conditions. If these obligations are not met, consumers are entitled to request:

    A price reduction

    A partial refund

    Or an equivalent form of compensation

    Given the growing number of server outages and the inability to access the service despite paying for ESO Plus, I strongly encourage affected users to submit a formal request for compensation.

    I bought crowns just before EU server died. When I logged in to NA to check, nothing was delivered despite my Steam purchase going through. I suggest sending a ticket if that's the case, I'm still waiting a word about mine.

    My guess is that there has been no communications since this started? So they have no clue as usual what the problem is?

    It would be very considerate to let the playerbase know this issue is going to take hours to solve.     Sorry I don't work in the legal field, but if anyone could point me in the right direction, I would like to formally ask for compensation. Even better, join other users and do it together.

    Simple cure do as a lot of people have done,Don't renew your eso+ if you have it,at this point it is simply NOT Worth it at all,there is more downtime on the EU srvers than there is anythign else.
    As per usual we are told absolutely Nothing of what is going on.

    This is honestly beyond acceptable and ridiculous.

    Fix your broken game,siomple as that we all p[ay you enough money.
    Obviously enough though the money is NOT going on the EU servers or hardware.

    Please remember that the European Directive 2019/770 on digital content and services clearly states that digital services must remain accessible and conform to the contract under normal conditions. When these obligations are not fulfilled, consumers are legally entitled to:

    A price reduction

    A partial refund

    Or an equivalent form of compensation

    Considering the increasing number of server outages and the ongoing inability to access the service — despite paying for ESO Plus — I strongly encourage all affected users to submit a formal request for compensation.

    Your rights are protected. Don’t hesitate to act on them.
