I had one today that was misreported via an addon. I had been pretty sure that I had already set the character up with some research items a day or two before. And when I logged that character in, the addon updated with the accurate information.

In my case I can most likely lay the fault at the addon for not updating its stored variables especially since I had had both my accounts on at the same time.** Both accounts use the same addons and I'm guessing that they were logged out too close to each other that the stored variable file didn't get updated correctly.

Without more information, I couldn't guess as to what the cause of your issue might have been.



**For the curious, I use my primary account's main home for research training on an alt on my secondary account. I have not moved that character since creation and so porting to a player home is the only way to access crafting stations. As such, since I was already in the player home and my primary main character had logged out in the home, it was easier to load up the primary account, craft & trade the item than to log out, switch character, craft the item(s), put it in the bank, log out, switch back, port back and then research.

Yes I believe you are right, it's one of my addons being cheeky. Hopefully it will sort itself out
