With mount swimming what of argonians

With the addition of mounts now being able to swim is there anything gonna be done for argonians who have class passive that increases their swim speed by 50%

Racial passives must be super low on the to do list, I doubt they even considered this or will ever care.

I'm still waiting for the promised hybridization changes to complete, 3.5 years later. They've come out with Arcanist, Scribing, and Subclassing, but they can't simply combine spell/weapon damage or crit chance? They can't make foods and drinks equal? They can't give a reason to take the Warrior Mundus stone over the Apprentice?

Seems just as trivial as racial passives, yet here we are. Frankly racial passives for Argonian, Redguard, and Wood Elf have needed updating since their rebalance in 2019? I wouldn't hold my breath.

I only thought of this moments before posting likelihood of racial passives being addressed is low but maybe this will bring enough to the devs attention and even a pass on some racial changes for under utilized races

Redguards should be essentially the stamina equivalent of Bretons
Woodelves could be made similar to khajit
Argonians it’s a little more hit or miss perhaps just a numbers increase to all passives and maybe a change to the swimming speed to something more useful or put the poison disease resistance in its place and give a new passive in their place

There are still places where mounts are not allowed where you can take advantage of that, like points in the Dreadsail Reef and Ossein Cage trials.

Racial bonuses attached to the free skill point are specifically for flavor. Let's face it, nobody complains that Orcs only get a boost to crafting inspiration when other races get something useful like XP or AP bonuses. But Crafting is something most people can level completely in a month, leaving Orcs without any bonuses at all.

I wish racial passives were just flavor. With the what, 8% or so magicka cost reduction, Bretons turn into healers, dark elves and so on for DPS...It'd be cool to pick from a list of passives, like scribing. Make different flavors of the races.

Funny enough wood elf already lost its unique-ness when zos gave everyone fall damage mit in cp. Since alliances mean nothing, it would be nice to see wood elf get more in terms of critchance while khajit have the absurdly strong crit damage and healing on lock.

As far as the elemental resistances, I think these are outdated and highly prone to balance changes. Like currently in PvP there is almost no poison or disease spam like there was back in the day. Fire resist is always useful for vampires. Nord frost countered the frostwarden meta. Balance wise these are impossible.

How does that affect that at all? You get faster swim speed both ways now? If you were only selecting argonian for faster swim speeds, that’s a personal thing. Get a race change if that was your only tie to it! Don’t know what to tell ya 🤷🏻‍♂️

Racial passives should have been reworked ages ago, I'd honestly rather have all of the combat related ones replaced for other stuff, it still bothers me how you need to be either Dunmer/Altmer to optmise DPS, or Nord for tanking, meanwhile you have races like Redguards and Bosmers that aren't the best for any role.

The point of this post is to bring attention to the fact there are races in elder scrolls under utilized except for niche situations. This post is meant to bring attention to the need for a pass at racial passives.

Tier 1 racial passives are purely thematic/flavor. I primarily play Argonians ESO and only them in main line games, and I don't know what else that could replace it that is purely thematic and flavorful while fitting into the game. Like with the other Tier 1 passives, it's now going to become mostly useless once you the max in a similar skill line or passinve, in this case mount speed, and that's fine since it never really that useful anyway.

For the rest of their passives, I'll say Resourceful is great. The extra healing on a potion has saved me more than once. Argonian Resistance and Life Mender need to be looked at though since they don't offer much. I'll be selfish and say they should receive a crit chance bonus for being thematically assassins. Move the bonus HP to life mender, probably increase it to 1500 or increase healing done by a small amount, and put a 4-5% crit bonus on Argonian Resistance, keep the current disease/poison resistance, and rename it something else so it makes sense, something Blackmarsh related. They're one of the few races that doesn't have anything to help them out combat wise since healing is already ridiculously overpowered and disease/poison damage is underutilized and already mitigated by physical resistance, and it's already easy enough to reach the resistance cap.
