Fake Heals on VET DLC`s!

Today’s DLC pledge is Bal Sunnar. As many know, on vet HM the first boss has a hard healing check — it’s the mechanic with the growing poison that deals a massive amount of damage.
I queued up on my tank and started running dungeon finder for vet Bal Sunnar. Over half a day (with breaks), I got into the dungeon 14 times. I started the HM on the first boss 14 times — and no one, absolutely no one, could survive that mechanic.
I saw healers with 2500CP and 3200CP. I saw a healer with 900CP who was actually able to survive that mechanic several times. Naturally, everyone kept leaving. Or they would kick me when I refused to continue without HM.
Then I logged into my healer and queued for the same dungeon 4 times. And surprise — everything is easily healable. Especially with subclassing, where you can just stack several HoTs. One time, we even beat the boss with low-CP DPS. It was difficult, but I healed everything without much trouble.
Why is it like this?

Because you're relying on the game to match you at random with completely random strangers. The average player in eso is not particularly skilled at eso. This can be fine for easier content, but definitely some of the DLC hm's are beyond the abilities of many players. Sounds like you found one good solution - be the good healer (or tank). Another is to form groups with friends, guildies, like-minded players, players known to be at the desired skill level.

I mean think about it this way... not a perfect comparison, but some kids playing whiffle ball at the park might just take anyone who shows up and wants to play, and it wouldn't really matter. But a competitive baseball team playing at a higher level would never just pick random strangers off the street and expect them to fill gaps in the team. It's not a recipe for success when the content gets more difficult.

I don't see vet hm's as random dungeon content. You either go in there with your friends, or you accept the likelyhood of your group failing. As valenwood already said: most players are not on a level where they can beat dlc dungeon hardmodes. It is just that simple.

Opting to do DLC Vet Hard-mode and leaving it up to the games RNG engine for groups is on you. This cant possibly be your first rodeo in this player lottery system.

It's a gamble on the class and capability of player; there isnt really a "why is it like this". It's like this because it's random.

You've not mentioned if you asked the group on group formation if they're wanting to, or capable of completing the hard-mode. Not everybody wants to strive for that in a random situation.

I'm on the side of the people that kicked you when you insisted on the HM. don't try and force a random group into a HM when they have clearly said they just want a vet clear.

Asking random folks to do hm Bal Sunnar, a dungeon I really like was already a stretch. I've tanked it a few times and dps'd it so I won't pretend to know what a healer goes through but damn. I'm an officer in a guild and I'll repeat my recommendation I've given countless times. Never go random if you wanna do hard content. Set up a guild run. That's what we're here for. Refusing to go forward without hm to randoms is also a little wild. No wonder you got kicked. But as they say play stupid games win stupid prizes.

In general, I don't think you should expect to do vet dlc dungeon HMs in a dungeon finder pug, but especially a tough one.

I wouldn't even want to tank non-hm bal sumnar in a sunday dungeon finder pug because in my experience that's when a lot of inexperienced, extremely casual players queue in. There are times when my tank in a trial build out-dps the dds in weekend random vet dungeons.

If I were you, I would join a trial or dungeon community to find other players who would be interested in joining you. You could also try the group finder. Part of playing challenging group content in a game like this is making an effort to connect with other players. This is really what hm dlc dungeon content is for.

Keep in mind, when you use the dungeon finder, you're going to get a random assortment of players populated from the random queue.

A lot of people will pug the vet dlc dungeons as fake heals instead of fake tanks because they know that a real tank is needed but a real healer is often unnecessary for regular vet.

    Why is it like this?
Someone not being able to heal that heal check, particularly when they may not even be familiar with the mechanics does not make them a fake healer.
Someone queuing on vet does not mean they expect, are willing, or are able to do a HM.
As others have said, form your own group if you want to do that. The vet queue is vet, not HM, this is particularly true for DLC and doubly so for dungeons with HMs for each boss like Bal Sunnar. Even people able to do the HM often would rather just do the vet pledge than do three boss HMs especially in a pug.

This, most pug vet dlc for the monster helmets. I say newer dlc HM is designed for organized groups.
yes people expect HM on base vet dungeons, don't expect it on newer dlc, or even in older ones with pugs. Yes you can try and it might work, if you got to execute and some messe up it probably work. if not you go standard.
For speed runs 3DD +tank is pretty standard or you can change build after demand.

Remember ding Shipwreck regret I think its named, healer and dd on side, after wiping on final boss I was told to just heal and buff as i did not know mechanics, went trial healer it worked,
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Also I don't think there's anything wrong with a HM attempt in a pug but if it does work then you got a recognize your group's skill and make up and just let it go.

I have been pug everyday for vet dlc content on all roles but I would never expect every other of the rest of the group to be able to HM. And very often there are even basic mechanics that you have to explain to them, or even SHOUT so that the others may get attention of what to do, sometimes not even that would help and you have no other choice but to vote kick, not even to mention the fake heal or fake tanks that I'll start to vote kick from the first glance.

You can't force others into doing HM without their consent or capability. And if I am in a group that has poor skill or knowledge of mechanics or communication for some occasions, I'll start vote kicking those who keeps activating hm outright after rez from wipes.

Be realistic, if you want to HM, build your own group.

I’m with everyone else here. There are dungeons you can HM pug if the pug seems to have it together. Bal Sunnar is not one of them. Bal Sunnar has some of the highest heal checks in dungeons. Even if you can get through first boss in a PUG, you’re not getting past last boss. Don’t force PUGs to prog a HM, they may just be expecting a 30 minute dungeon run… not 2 hours.

ESO is a casual game. What made you think gf was the right place to find people to do vet DLC HMs?
