I have never done any scribing. I logged in today to see the new scribing golden pursuits, claimed the scribing quest from the crown store and completed it. The golden pursuit was not updated.

And what are players who already had scribing, and have already scribed skills supposed to do? Because it doesn't count as completed for me either, nor does the "scribe one skill" pursuit when I have already have and USE a scribed skill. Why should players have to waste materials to do something they've already done to their satisfaction?

*And the point is not that there are plenty of others to complete. The POINT is that this happens EVERY time; someone doesn't use due diligence with releases and then has to play catch up or shrug their shoulders at their mistake. (see: we have no way to drop the multi-classing quest and we'll look into it, oops, on second thought just do it anyway and use a free skill respec scroll to fix it)

Maythor: honestly we're getting the supermarket treatment here ... shrinkflation with the addition of simply moving things about so they seem fresher .. all the while being told a corporation is our friend :P

"PLAY YOUR WAY" my Aunt Suzy's ashcan.

If it comes with strings, it ain't free. It isn't a gift with purchase; you were overcharged. Companies don't love you; they love money.

I_CraftwithPntButter: 2023 is the year your supposed to be doing better , remember ? (Still waiting for that in 2025)

Advice for the future : com·mu·ni·ca·tion (noun)the imparting or exchanging of information or news.

KlauthWarthog: Well, they can definitely measure fun on their spreadsheets, otherwise they would not be able to nerf it so consistently.

I logged on an alt that hadn't picked the item yet neither started the quest. Didn't count either.

The wording of the pursuit doesn't mention picking up the quest starter, it mentions picking up the scribing upgrade. I would guess that the quest starter was never intended to count for this particular pursuit, it's supposed to be for players who don't have Gold Road and who must acquire the Scribing feature from the Upgrades section of the Crown Store.

If you already have the Scribing feature through Gold Road-- whether or not you ever did the questline-- just do other pursuits. There are more than enough to choose from, so you can still get 16 completed without having to complete this specific one.

Scribe one skill = go to scribing altar and create a new skill

Unless you're changing your scribed abilities, you should have plenty of luminous ink to do this. Plus, you could only have to use 2 if you just switch the affix of something real quick and then switch it back to what you had.

What makes you think this is a "mistake"? The particular pursuit being complained about here is one that seems to have been very specifically aimed at players without Gold Road who MUST claim Scribing from the Upgrades section of the Crown Store if they wish to use Scribing at all. Players who already have Scribing as part of Gold Road aren't supposed to be able to claim Scribing as an Upgrade, any more than players who bought the Morrowind chapter are supposed to be able to claim Warden in the Crown Store, or players who bought the Elsweyr chapter are supposed to be able to claim Necromancer, or players who already have the Imperial City DLC are supposed to be able to claim it again for free. If you already own something on your account, you can't claim it from the Crown Store.

Not a mistake, just logic. "Claim the Scribing feature under Upgrades" does not equal "Claim the Scribing questline under Quest Starters."
