Anyone knows how to install the game for steam without letting steam download a previous version of the entire game?
I tried to use the installer from website and install to the folder inside steam library, and edit .acf to make it look like installed, but there is no zossteamstarter.exe in that version and I have no idea how to launch the game with correct parameters to link it to steam (in order to log in without password)

Jlopguk✭✭✭What's the problem? You buy the game on Steam. Then go to the website and log in to your account. Link it to the Steam you bought. Download the game and play)1 -
moo_2021✭✭✭✭✭Because steam downloads a full old copy of the game, and I have to run the launcher to do a full update. The first download is essentially pointless.
all right I found the answer myself, though too late now:
Command line is "Zenimax Online\Launcher\Bethesda.net_Launcher.exe" with parameters "/bufferselfpatchfix /steam true". The zosSteamStarter.exe is only launched to call that. It doesn't stay in the background.2
