Are you characters in other Elder Scrolls games related?

Given the popularity of the recent Oblivion remaster, when y'all make characters in other Elder Scrolls games, or when you made your character in ESO, do you connect them in some way? Is your Skyrim character an ancestor of your ESO character or something like that? A vampire that is still alive in one of the other games ever since ESO? etc

Not really. I've occasionally used the same or similar character names in different TES games, but the characters themselves are not intended to be the same person or related to each other. On the other hand, I do tend to play most of my characters in similar ways, regardless of their race or class.

Yes! My dragonborn is a descendent of my first healer. My dragonborn’s friend/follower who I’ve also played as is a descendent of my first eso character. My vestige and thief are still alive by Skyrim but don’t have any connection with the game. These connections were all made independent of the creation of these characters (I later decided as the stories developed).

I do have a character concept that is unlikely to be made in ESO but he is related to my hero of kvatch. My minotaur is somewhat related in that an important person from his backstory is the sister to this character concept.

My characters exist as part of a multiverse, so they have friends, family, and relatives in many different timelines.

My first ESO character, an Imperial Templar, is the great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandfather of Caius Cosades.

My very first Nightblade character in ESO (about ten years ago) was named after Mathieu Bellamont from TESIV. He was narrated as an ancestor. Unfortunately for him I couldn't make NB work for me at that stage, so he got deleted to free up the character slot.

That was when I was new to the game and hadn't got a grip on the identity of the Vestige. Now I understand the Vestige narrative I focus on my characters' relationships with the Spirit of Nirn. Family just doesn't come into it.

    Yes.

My 11 years old main character on ESO, an Imperial "Agent" (Male) , is the ancestor of my Imperial (female) Hero of Kvatch/Champion of Cyrodiil/Knight of the Nine (which didn't transform into Sheogorath in the end. She only helped him save his realm so that this stupid door in the Niben can finally close and stop bothering Cyrodiil :D)

And my dunmer (female) , house Hlaalu's agent, childhood friend of the previous one, is the ancestor of my Dunmer (female again.) Nerevarine.

And for the Dragonborn still don't know if I link him/her to anyone. For this one I like the idea of a total "nobody" unrelated to anyone.

Having more than 50 characters across 7 ESO accounts there are varying degrees of relations between some, from marriage to friendships to a couple of Bosmer brothers that are bitter enemies. None were related to any other character that I've played in any of the other games before. I do have a set of Orsimer brothers that are ancestors of Burz gro-Khash, the head of the Cheydinhal Fighters Guild in the 3rd era.

When Oblivion Remastered came out I did create a Bosmer that is a descendant of one of the two brothers in conflict that I mentioned above. Haven't really fleshed it out yet, but likely from the line of the evil brother, that later is redeemed by the ghost of the good brother.

Sort of.... I always play a Breton Mage (Sorc in ESO, because its the closest thing). It would be hard to make it work given the great gulfs of time, but I kind of came up with the idea that my character is a "mantle" that get's mantled for each game. If that makes sense?

By mantle, do you mean like there's an archetypal hero who shows up in each era?

Sorry for the delayed response, I guess I don't get notifications! Yes, like an archetypal hero. Like Ash King or Ysmir.
