Tips for leveling sub class skill lines

I assume they level exactly the same as normal skill lines? The more skills you slot the faster...only difference being that they level on an account basis (and cost 2 skill points)?

Maybe we can consolidate some tips for (new) players....

They require twice the XP to level, however it's account wide, so if you want to level storm-calling you can add it to multiple characters and do a random normal on each and it will get that full XP bonus.

Changing subclasses is cheap and can be done at any skill shrine or with a respec scroll.

Swapping 2 skill lines out will EAT your skill points very quickly. I recommend at least starting out with 2 class skill lines and one subclass line which will enhance whatever that characters role is.

From a functional point of view Arcanists are still the best base class because of the crux generation on the banner. If you take any build that uses Herald of the Tome, it's stronger if you do it on an arcanist compared to any other class.

Assassination from the nightblade is the strongest single skill line. it has really strong skills and passives.

After that it's really up to the individual to look at what is important to them from a build perspective. A lot of people prefer form over function, I guess theme of effectiveness.

thats the one reason why a class change token would be kinda neat...since we only got 2 additional character slots with the Arcanist release instead of the usual 3 (or another character slot)

No tips. Only one week for upp all lines. Just to quest with experience scroll and it's good.

If you've enough gold (to buy writs) or saved up a lot of alchemy/enchanting writs those are gonna be the fastest way to level up the skillines.

Some people will say BRP or spellscare. I do a little of this but find it boring after a while. So I split my time between-
    Random normal dungeon(s)
    Undaunted daily dungeons
    Undaunted daily quest
    Mages guild daily
    Fighters guild daily
    ToT daily pvp match
    ToT daily
    Incursion dailies across different zones
    Incursions
Quests in delves (even better if combines with mages or Undaunted dialy)
Master writs (had a load saved up)
Bit of story line on alts - also good for skill points

Throw in brp and spellscar ontop of that and i find i dont burn out whilst levelling, and i have three class lines left to go - i know its not the quickest, but I dont want to level and them be burnt out by the experience. You can also put the same line on multiple toons to level (but you need to remember that nonsubclass lines are not the same!) Meaning you can rinse and repeat dailies.

Sorry I missed crafting dailies (important for getting master writs), region wb and delve dailies (similar to incursions, nice xp for not much work)

Whilst i do have most, i just started by focusing on the ones I want for tanks, healers and DDs first. As someone that generally does lots of trials and pug trials it was nice to spend time away from those and I put all my time into the list above.

I did two lines across multiple chars, and this helped alot.

Another thing, it's pretty easy to get to 30s and it's usually around level 42 that you have access to all skills,, so from that point it's easier to passively level anyway.

While BRB offers the best exp run, you can also get good experience from running solo arenas. Running a normal solo arena grants you the same exp as vet, and its pretty easy.

I leveled them all to 50 and leveled at least 1 morph of each individual skill on the first day before the double XP mini event ended by using a ton of master writs that had been building up for a while.

I tend to do dolmens in Auridon up to 33-36 on an archanist with only the beam+ the new class skills, then switch to main and do writs to 50. And you can do any writs really, if you know an house with all the crafting stations to finish it up 20-25 something writs does it with an 150% scroll who I have more than 50 of. done with sorcerer, DK, and last for NB.
Benefit of dolemns is that you dps don't matter much and you level up so fast to 20.

Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

There is also a new green CP node for extra xp to both individual skills and skill lines.

This is true as long as your character is capable of doing other types of writs. The reason most people go for alchemy/enchanting writs when they want to gain tons of XP is because those writs only require that the relevant crafting skill lines are leveled and you've spent a few skill points. For equipment master writs your character needs to know a lot of motifs and traits, and for provisioning your character needs to know a lot of recipes.

Having said that, this raises the point that if you're looking to level subclass skill lines using master writs and you have a crafter character who learns motifs and recipes and has traits researched, you might want to level those skill lines on that character. Alchemy and enchanting writs are in high demand at the moment because people want them to power level subclass skill lines. If you're capable of doing other types of master writs, you may be able to get those ones cheaper. Personally I leveled all the subclass skill lines on my crafter using blacksmithing, clothing, woodworking, and jewelry writs, except for the DK ones that I had to level on a different character using alchemy and enchanting writs. I didn't buy any writs, though, I just used ones that had been piling up.
