Cadwell's quests very annoying

When the vestige had to complete all the tutorial quests with the Prophet, ok.

But then I got myself into Cadwell's Silver quests... Sigh... by now I've seen these zones and done them on other characters. But no credit across the account, I had to do them all again. Boorrrring and interminably long.

BUT THEN CADWELL gives me CADWELL GOLD without my permission.

I DON"T NEED IT. I DON"T WANT IT. I've played the game for over a year now and I don't need a quest line that I can't abandon.
Please make this fool quest line optional so that those of us who have played the game for a long while can skip it and move on to the new DLC or whatever else wee are doing.

Thanks a bleeding ton.

We don't have to do Cadwell's Silver and Gold. We can just ignore them and move on to any DLC in any order we wish without doing the base game zones at all, as long as we own them or are ESO+.

It would be really nice though if we could decline them just to get them out of our face.

It already is optional. That's exactly what I did on my main character - I finished the Alliance storyline, the Mages and Fighters Guild and the Main story all together as intended, then I got given Cadwell's Silver and ignored it and went to Craglorn instead (then the Imperial City, then Wrothgar and so on).

Yes I still have Cadwell's Silver sitting in my quest log, but that doesn't affect anything. I don't have to do it, and having it there doesn't prevent me doing anything else.

I think the OP's point is that while it's optional to pick up Silver, if you do pick it up you're forced to take Gold as well.

Silver is generally deemed worth it for the Soul Shriven motif book. But Gold once completed the first time, isn't worth completing again because the reward is a collectible and thus a one and done account wide reward. But you're stuck with it whether you like it or not if you pick up Silver again for another motif book

And I kinda agree. It would be nice if Gold were optional after completing Silver.

it reduces your maximum activ quests by one, which is bad, since the max is allready very low.
Yes I know I accept too many quests, but I'm on console and don't have quest markers on the map, so I accept quests in the zone I'm actually playing otherwise I would have to remember where all the quest starters are located ^^

They have an addon for that

However, I always have multiple unfinished quests and I have never in 9 - 10 years had any issues picking up new quests.

I first did this chain in May 2014. Since then I have long refused to do it again. And I really wish I can abandon the quest from my quest log. A couple of my toons have had it for 10 years.

Tell me about it. I recently decided to replay the whole game from the very beginning and oh, Cadwell's stuff was a chore I didn't remember the magnitude >.<

Cadwell's Silver and Gold were here from launch and had a purpose. Back then there were only the base game zones, so after a player finished their faction's zones the other zones became the veteran levels.

That was changed with One Tamriel, and Silver and Gold no longer serve a purpose. There is still an achievement for these that is per character. I think it would be reasonable to make the achievement account wide, or just keep it as an achievement without having it rely on these quests, and remove them.
