It's official: most of Necro's Multi Corpse Consumers are dead abilities next patch

@ZOS_Kevin I tried and tried to explain to the devs how the corpse+pet limit of 5 and shortened duration of corpses is going to kill multi-corpse consuming abilities in PvP next patch, but nothing was done to either buff the abilities as compensation nor revert the changes made to corpses.

Necros will literally be unable to use Animate Blastbones next patch in PvP. Do the devs even care about this? It seems like a massive oversight that isn't being addressed, and Necros will now have to live with this for months (or maybe even forever).

Many necro abilities require multiple corpses, and by limiting the number of corpses to 2 or 3 (due to having 3 or 2 pets), and slashing the duration in half on most corpses, you have effectively killed Deaden Pain, Animate Blastbones, Enduring Undeath, and the Necro Class Script in PvP.

I'm amazed that you still think they care. Time to move on to another class if you want to pvp, or swap out your skill lines with subclassing 💀

They probably dont remeber that necromanser is a class in the game called elder scrolls online. Mybe they have it labeled as "spare parts for subclassing" or something.

TBH I didnt used any of this skills and was poping every corpse with detonating since corpsebuster release, so I personnaly wont notice any difference. But, ZoS's neglect for the class is hilarious at this point, like, you have to put real effort to presistantly ignore the class and playerbase that mains the class, as much effort as it requires to fix necros shortcomings.

Imagine if a development team made performance changes and a byproduct of them made it impossible to use certain skills in PvP. You'd think it has to be an small indie dev team not a multi-billion dollar company.

What if they made it so in PvP Streak distance was cut by 67%, or Incap's damage was cut by 33%, or the charm radius of the Warden class mastery was cut by 80%. If they made these changes not for balance reasons, but to improve performance and did absolutely NOTHING to compensate the classes for these nerfs. They did all this to the Necromancer.

I've made my decision on buying the season pass now :D

It's not even like ZOS is somehow unable to revert changes
    ku7e7fjobnyb.png
They just don't seem to care at all about this particular issue that is being introduced with the new ''corpse rules'', seeing as how both changes are made for performance reasons.

Not really surprised after seeing how they handled the GLS situation or how they completely ignored other ''necro related'' stuff like Pet skills/Score in BGs. The sad part is that now there is even less reasons for ZOS to fix these issues since they just can use Subclassing as an excuse.

You don't like your core class mechanic being gutted in PvP? ''just swap your skill lines bro''

Unfortunately, there are Golden Child classes and there are Red-Headed Stepchildren classes.

And we Necros are... Red-Headed Stepchildren.

@ZOS_Kevin Is there any word from the dev team on why they think its okay that multi-corpse consumers should be heavily neutered in PvP going forward for the sake of performance?

Well.. They sometimes do stuff for us, just look at Skeletal Mage on release vs now... It just took like 5 years? I'm sure they'll get around to fixing the corpse consumer abilities. . . .

Or the class mastery that was nerfed by 50% for PvP, GLS being nerfed (corpse generation removed and given to skull spammable), or Blastbones and corpses counting towards the 5 pet limit for PvP, corpses despawning faster, or Animate Blastbones being an even more useless way to burn 350 ultimate, especially if you subclass that line because you cannot generate enough corpses to use it . . .

@ZOS_Kevin please tell us what we did to invoke the wrath of the devs/what we can do to atone for our sins and earn salvation 🙃

Sadly decided this myself after I tried the corpse changes on PTS. I tried Arcanist, but it's designed only for the beam centered builds to work, all alternative Arcanist builds are in a similar state to Necromancer. Now playing Templar on live, and it seems pretty decent, and will be a lot better with the upcoming buffs.

Sad though, I really loved the necromancer theme, and blastbones playstyle and have been advocating for it to be buffed after the removal of Stalking Blastbones and for Animate Blastbones to get some kind of buff given how it's way too unreliable and costly. That ultimate has been untouched since launch, despite underperforming in both PvE and PvP.

This [snip] change makes playing necro anything more buggy and tedious, pve too. What exactly were they trying to accomplish with this? Like necro was so op before.

Edit: lol can't read. Apparently it's for performance? I thought necro was already a minority in pvp. And petsorc nonexistent.

@ZOS_Kevin Still boggled as to why the dev team hasn't commented on this.

A PTS performance-oriented change has functionally broken a Necromancer ultimate and heavily neutered other Necro Abilities in PvP. Isn't the entire point of PTS to look for these types of game breaking details? Does the dev team just not care about these 4 abilities?

This has been pointed out, pinged at multiple employees, and discussed by many individuals on the very forums that you yourself have asked for feedback on, and yet we're met with silence.

The dev team broke a Necromancer ability, asked for feedback, and then did nothing when confronted with the feedback that they broke an ability.

This isn't a "we'll fix it next PTS cycle" type issue. PTS made an ability unusable in PvP. It needs to be fixed before live.

@ZOS_Kevin I feel like I must be shadow banned or something.

The PTS changes to corpses broke an ability and heavily nerfed others, and I've been begging for weeks for it to get addressed.

Are these comments just going into the void? How long will we have to wait for this to get fixed?

I feel bad spamming the forums about it, but I agree. It's okay if they can't fix it right now, I just would like to know they're aware of the problems pointed out and that they're working on a fix to come in a following update...

It feels bad when your main character is going to be frustrating to play for months, but it feels significantly worse when your main character is going to be frustrating to play for an unknown amount of time...

So it would seem. Years of silence across Necromancer feedback threads—including the meticulous work of @CameraBeardThePirate, who has consistently catalogued bugs, balance issues, and player concerns—have been met with nothing but polite deletion and disregard. No clarification, no roadmap, no engagement.

A personal note to @ZOS_Kevin: while your reply to my earlier thread on communication was appreciated, this is precisely the problem. Selective responses to low-friction topics while ignoring sustained, detailed feedback from committed players sends a clear message: you’re not listening. And more importantly, you’re shielding the dev team from meaningful dialogue. That is not communication. It’s PR triage.

It's basically industry standards for the devs to ignore players and drive their game into the ground as fast as possible once it gets successful enough. Happened in every MMO I've ever played. For whatever reason devs just get this major vibe of "Players are entitled brats who think they want X, but they don't, so we'll give them Y despite players asking for X for years and giving tons of feedback on why they hate Y." A real "Do you guys not have phones?" moment and it happens every single time.

How is he shielding anyone when he's only allowed to say certain things? If he's told he can't comment on something but does anyway, he could lose his job, the same as anyone refusing to do something a higher up tells them to do, or not to do.

He can literally only tell us the things he's allowed to. It's really unfair to say he's shielding anyone or say he's not listening. Don't shoot the messenger because you don't like what he is or isn't telling you; shoot the person who's controlling what messages he's allowed to deliver.

But the problem is it takes years, if they do it at all when they could have just communicated and actually taken player desires into account, since without players a game dies. It takes a massive hit to the wallet and player count for them to wake up and think "Oh damn, maybe that was a bad idea, our shareholders are going to be angry!"

For 5 years every balance patch for pvp necros has been a nerf in the face.

You are the weakest pvp class, barelly playable and every patch instead of getting buffs u get nerf after nerf after nerf, while all the other classes are getting stronger (minus 50% blastbone damage, heal from spirit nerfed, grave aoe nerfed)

The only bone they ever threw to necro was major prophecy/brutality in 4 years of pvp Hell, then decided to screw him again.

But now this patch they completelly outdone themselves with 2/3 of your pvp abilities as necro not even working as they did before. No more Dead and Pain, no more Animate Blastbones, no more class script stat bonuses. Corpses instead of being buffed in duration by 5s are getting nerfed by 5 seconds, and the 5 pet/corpse limit is the stupidest thing they've ever done.

Good job ZOS! Every pvp necro will delete the game once your patch goes live. This is not even hard, it's absolutelly unplayable.

thats true, after running in IC for some time, killing bunch of mobs, bligthbones does skip every other cast.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QPaiU57TPeM

its super easy to recreate, the fact that this bug makes it to live is insane.

before any limitations its was fine, currently on live my bb never failed to spawn, it might failed to connect, but its always spawned at least.

Wow! Who would've guessed that this issue would hinder Necros in PvP?? Certainly not me!
